Mission: Vanished
Location: Horizon and Victory
Timeline: Current

Off:

Sorry for the silence.

On:

The thing about marines was that while they were rich with ceremony, dating back to its founding days, when a job needed doing, it got done quick.

It had taken Barnes and West mere minutes to assemble and outfit ten marines onto a shuttlecraft bound for the Victory. Ten men and women in full battle gear, the latest tech, waited patiently as the smaller craft docked with the bigger one.

West called out orders, and the marines moved like a well oiled machine, spreading out to provide a wide target profile, while providing themselves cover from any hostiles.

Moment by moment, they progressed into the ship through the docking umbilical at high alert, never failing to let down their guard for a moment. They moved through the ship deck by deck, only splitting up when the ship was tagged as secure.

Wilson, Axel, and Daniels followed Hurd’s orders and headed to Engineering, reporting similar findings as the other teams of Vargas, K’Tren and Melody in Sickbay and Kelsy, Breann, and Lysdey who were checking armories and weapons. Within an hour, they reported back to the Amandora similar findings as the other locations.

On Hurd’s orders, West took half the marines to the Horizon, following a similar pattern and reporting similar findings.

West stood on the bridge of the Horizon, chewing his lower lip. None of this sat right with him. There was no sign of a struggle, nor any indication that the crew had vanished in the middle of something. They were just gone, as if it happened all at once or as if they had left of their own accord.

Crash stood nearby, her attention on a small device in her hand. “What you go there, Private?”

“Nothing.” She said, defensively, just something I found while searching Engineering. Trace held out his hand silently, indicating that she should hand it over. “Not supposed to take or touch anything Marine. Hand it over.”

She reluctantly did so. “Didn’t see no harm in it XO. Ain’t nobody here.”

Trace frowned as he looked down at the device. Clearly it was some Engineering thing, but it had an odd construction, didn’t look like it fit with the rest of Engineering stuff. He whipped out his tricorder and scanned it, getting some rather odd results back. It was shielded somehow.

West tapped his comm badge.

“West to Hurd, may have found something.”

Off:

What’s the device?
