Tuhjer paced across Main Engineering, waiting for three specific crew members to be in sight before making his move: Rodriguez, Samson, and Lucas. Beyond serving aboard the Amandora, all four men shared a common passion: escape room programs on the holodeck.

These interactive, live-action scenarios challenged teams to find hidden clues, crack codes, and solve puzzles within a set time limit, usually 60 minutes, to complete a mission or break out of a themed space.

Long before joining the crew of the Amandora, each man had earned a reputation for his love of these games. Tuhjer was especially passionate, as the holodeck was where his analytical mind truly shone.

He approached the scenarios with the same enthusiasm he brought to engineering, thriving on creative problem-solving whether working solo or in a team. Mechanical puzzles, logic grids, and sequence challenges were his strengths, though he was equally drawn to narrative-driven mysteries.

Spotting all three men within line of sight, he turned and called out to them.

"Rodriguez, Samson, Lucas, a moment of your time, please."

The three men approached.

"Escape rooms, gentlemen," Tuhjer began. "I am well aware of your dedication to them, a passion I share. I would like to take advantage of our mutual interest and form a team. Running these programs regularly will sharpen our problem-solving skills. How does that sound?"

The three men exchanged grinning looks. Rodriguez spoke up first. "I think I speak for all of us, sir, when I say: Hell yeah!"

"Excellent," Tuhjer said. "I will arrange our first session and send you the details shortly. In the meantime, please send me a list of the scenarios you have already completed so I can ensure our first run is virgin territory for all of us."

"Yes, sir," they replied in unison.

"Very good. Dismissed."

The group disbanded and returned to their duties.
