Will Raymond retired from the peace talks and made for the shuttle com system. He was missing his wife Amethyst and hoped the ship was in range.

He would not be able to direct communicate but with hope the Starbase Mercury communications array would be able to ferry his message to the ship.

< Amandora >

A static message arrived and was quickly sent down to the Counselor.

[ Message for you Lieutenant. Priority One.]

Amethyst looked up from her PADD, “Acknowledged” she patched it through and listened carefully.

" Imzadi, it's Will just in case you have forgotten me. I really wish I could have brought you. These people ....get along. Hug my babies and leave the light on for me...when I get home........" the message said as the signal failed.

“Is daddy coming home?” Young Kal appeared at his mother’s side.

“I wish he was sweetheart” Amethyst smiled as she gave her son a hug. “He’s just let me know that he’s still on the planet. I wish he was coming back too.”

Kal nodded. He was missing his father a lot.

Tapping the computer she composed her own message in return. “Imzadi, I hope you get this. We received your message. We’re missing you, and Kal can’t wait for you to get home. Hurry back to us! We love you.”

She set the message for delivery and just hoped it would reach Will.

Far out in space tidbit of data bounced off the Starbase Mercury array and vectoring through the quasars returned to the shuttle Beloit memory banks.

Will would see it arrival later and by then the Amandora would be even more light years away to return a reply.

* I miss you my beloved * Will said in his head hopeful the empath signal would feel his homesickness.

Amethyst looked towards the window, somehow their connection conveyed even from so far away. She closed her eyes and focussed on Will, conveying her feelings of love and how much she missed him.

Static filled the radio channel as apparent magnetic dislocation redirected his out going signal to the array. Will then shut down the shuttles system and placed them on solar charge.

Amethyst could only wonder how soon she’d see her husband, she offered Kal a smile as she looked at him. She could see so much of his father in him.

A chime at the door was the reality boost to distract Amethyst.

Amethyst motioned to Kal to go to his room, Flora was already sleeping in her cot. She waited until he was gone before cautiously answering the door.

An ensign held a beautiful box.

" Ma'am Commander Raymond had this made for you."

Aurora stood for a moment in surprise before taking the box. “Thank you Ensign”

The box immediately played a song. “I would spend my whole life through loving you..just loving you..." as the music box played.

Amethyst wiped away a few sentimental tears, she was missing Will more and more as the seconds went by. She just wanted him home.

The Ensign exited and the doors closed. He quickly rushed back to the bridge and dispatched the coded message on the same carrier wave Will had used.
