Amethyst lay on the biobed in Sickbay the chest of her uniform between her neck and the low neckline was charred where she’d been hit by the static energy discharge, as was the skin underneath and she had a fair sized lump on her head where she’d connected with the wall when she’d landed.

H'iri sprang into triage mode and quickly accessed the damage. Biomedic gels and fluids began to be applied and the pump knot was also attended to.

" Can you hearrr me Dearrry," H'iri asked.

" Amethyst wake up this is Will."

Amethyst slowly stirred with a groan. “Ouch!!” She offered Will a drowsy smile as she looked up at him. “I can ... hear you doctor.” She grimaced with the pain of the burns and the lump on her forehead.

" Layyy sstilll. The sssedativesss willl kick in ssshortly. You telll herrr Commanderrrr." H'iri instructed.

" She is right. You got hurt worse than the one you came to help. I thought I lost you." Will revealed in front of H'iri.

H'iri purred.

“You’re not losing me that easy” Amethyst smiled. “I’m sorry! ... I shouldn’t have been in engineering in the first place.” She relaxed as the painkillers started to kick in. “I was worried about you!”

" Me I had my rubbers on. I was grounded. You rest up I will check in on Kal."

“Will ... don’t tell him I’m in Sickbay!” She looked worriedly across at him. “It’ll just frighten him.”

" I can't lie to my son. He is with the nurse. I will take care of him tonight. I promise." Will replied as he kissed her forehead and exited.

Amethyst looked at H’iri “This was my fault ... I shouldn’t have been in Engineering.”

Will returned smiling, " I have the effect on you Counselor."

" Yourrr woundsss are healing and if you promise to take it eassy I will release you. But you have to come back for dermal checks." H'iri said.

" She will Doctor. Amethyst let me take you back to your quarters." Will told her.

Amethyst nodded and slowly sat up, She took hold of Will’s arm as she slid down off the biobed ready to leave. Her jacket was a mess so that was one top she’d have to throw away. “Thank you H’iri.” She looked to Will. “I’m ready when you are.”

Will arm in arm escorted Amethyst to the turbo lift.

As they walked Amethyst shook her head annoyed at herself. “I’m sorry Will, I should not have come down to Engineering, it was unprofessional and it almost got me killed. What kind of mother risks her own safety?”

" One that is a Star fleet officer. You went to help out and stepped onto an un covered deck section. It happens." Will consoled. " Just don't die on me. I sort of have plans for us."

Amethyst smiled. “I have no plans to die, that I promise you! I’m looking forward to finding out what these plans of yours are.”

" I will tell you later.,You have a meeting to get to young lady."

Amethyst nodded. “Yes Sir.

Off
