Mission:
Kidnapped
Location: Odac Quarters
On
Following the staff meeting Odac Yova had Lt Clinton relieve him as he had not seen his wife in quite a few days.
[ Yova to Lt Kees-Odac?]
Ellie smiled as she heard her husband’s voice. Tapping her comm badge she responded excitedly.“I’m here Yova”
" Any chance of hooking up for lunch? I have Clinton manning engineering?" he asked.
“For you my love, always!” Ellie grinned. “I’ll meet you at home.”
There actually was very little time for a lunch, so arriving early Yova split an apple and added caramel to a bowl. He then added strawberries and chocolate and had it waiting for when Ellie arrived.
" Surprise!" Yova said as Ellie entered.
Ellie grinned as she looked at what her husband had waiting for her. “You seriously know how to spoil a woman you know!” She kissed him lovingly. “It seems like forever since we last had time together, yet we’re here every evening.”
" This mission is draining. Security really screwed the pooch, I love that saying. Speaking of .... let's take this over to the bed." Yova replied.
Ellie nodded. “I heard that the Commodore was abducted or something. Rumours are rife amongst the junior staff and lower decks crew.”
" Its funny how rumours spread even on a starship. Speaking of which I hear that there is chocolate behind your ear ." Yova replied.
“Chocolate behind my ear?” Ellie gave her husband a quizzical look.
He then kissed the back of her left ear and then the right.
" Definately the right." Yova replied.
“Is that so?” Ellie grinned. “Perhaps you’d like to check the rest of me just to be sure there’s nothing anywhere else?”
" Definately there is whipped cream here." Yova replied
< An hour later >
Ellie lay cuddled up in Yova’s arms. “That was amazing!” She smiled before giving him a loving kiss. “I’ve missed us having the free time to enjoy ourselves. Work is a pain sometimes.”
" And we're too young to retire. My engines were on fire to get to here. How’s the world of science? " Yova replied.
“It’s Science!” Ellie grinned. “Always plenty of little experiments or bigger projects to keep us busy. Other times it’s high pressure and less fun. Actually I was thinking about species replication, breeding...” She looked at Yova. “Would you like a family at some point Yova?”
There it was that level in a relationship all peoples had to consider. When do you family?
" I grew up a Maquis...family was not on the radar."
“Well you’re not Maquis now” Ellie smiled. “You’re part of Starfleet now. I’ll admit I’d like us to have a family, but I won’t push you into it if it’s not what you want.”
" I want one but I am not in the market to have one so soon. We just wedded and I want to spoil you as much as I can. Did you want children early?"
Ellie shook her head. “There’s no rush, it’s just we never talked about it before. I’ve always wanted to have a family, I just needed to know how you felt about it.”
" I tend to Leave stuff like that to the Prophets." Yova replied
“The prophets!” Ellie gave a doubtful look. “I’m not planning on making love with one of them in order to have a baby!” She grinned. “I’m your wife.”
" I have to get back to work Ellie and so do you. Let's talk about all this later?" Yova replied to her anxiety.
“It’s not important” Ellie slid out of bed and picked up her uniform. Dressing herself quickly she moved to the mirror to brush her hair.
" It is or else you wouldn't have brought it up. My parent's had me by accident they said. That's why they left the Maquis and moved us to DS9." Yova replied.
Ellie paused brushing her hair. “I’m not going to rush you into anything Yova, that wouldn’t be fair. I want to have children but if you’re not ready yet that’s fine, there’s time.”
Yova felt defeated as he kissed Ellie on the top of her head and returned back to engineering. He had never once thought about children and now it was the greatest decision of his life.
< Engine room >
Horton Clinton was relieved to see the boss back as he settled back to his other role of diagnostics, Yova on the other hand was glad to be back at the mains. At least here he knew what he was doing.
