{USS Hermes}

Commander Jamie O'Connell was sitting by the window in the Crew Lounge watching the stars stream by as the Ship was at warp getting ready to rendezvous with the USS Amandora.

Jamie's thoughts were still going over recent events and how the Independence had been called back the the Shipyard for a major overhaul and a yearlong refit. After spending a few weeks with Captain Ellis, they had finally found new assignments for the entire Crew. One of the downsides was Jamie would no longer be working with his Captain and someone who he had become quite good friends with....Mystery.

Then his thoughts shifted to his wife, who he already was missing, Heather Devroe who now held the rank of Lieutenant JG which was a step up in rank for her. Heather had traveled back to Betazed to visit her family for awhile whom she had not seen in years and also to inform them that she had already married the Commander and assured them the first chance they had then her and Jamie would return so they could meet her new husband.

Suddenly Jamie's thoughts were brought back to reality when his Comm went off "Commander O'Connell here."

"Commander we're almost within Transporter range of the Amandora Sir" Lieutenant Smith informed him.

"Understood Lieutenant....I'm on my way to the Transporter Room, I'll be there shortly" came the reply as Jamie grabbed his duffel and headed out to start the next chapter in his career.

The Commander walked into the Transporter Room when the Operator turned "Good timing Sir, we're ready to beam you aboard" he stated.

Jamie smiled as he stepped onto the Pad "Energize" he ordered and seconds later he was on his way.

{Amandora}

The Commander materialized on his new Ship as he stepped off the Pad and walked up to the Ensign at the controls handing him his orders " Commander Jamie O'Connell reporting for duty" Jamie stated with a smile being a little nervous and excited all at the same time.

"Commander we've been expecting you...welcome aboard" the Ensign replied then handing Jamie a PADD "Here is your PADD with your Quarters assignment and also a complete map of the Ship to help you get familiar with her. Also I just signed you in so you're now officially a member of this Crew."

"Thank you Ensign for your help and hope you have a good rest of your day" Jamie commented then turned, after grabbing his duffel, with his PADD in hand to find his way to his new Quarters.

{Deck 2}

Jamie grabbed the Lift across from the Transporter Room and soon found his way to Deck 2. After getting off the lift Jamie looked in both directions to see the numbering sequence on the doors....his quarters was higher in number so left he proceeded.

Shortly Jamie came to his quarters as he keyed in the Security Code into the panel....the door swooshed open as Jamie entered.

Looking around for a few moments he realized how much nicer and more plush these quarters were than his last ones....Jamie walked into the bedroom and threw his duffel onto the bed as he heard the door chime go off.

Walking back into the living area he answered the door "Commander welcome aboard....I have your personnel crates so where would you like them" the Crewman stated.

Jamie was pleasantly surprised to see his things already "Oh wow, that was fast" he declared as he stepped aside and pointed "Over there against the wall will be fine" then the Crewman wheeled in his things and set them down then turned "When your all unpacked Sir you can move the empties out into the Corridor and give us a call.....we''ll send someone to pick them up for you" the Crewman instructed.

"Thank you so much, you've been very helpful" Jamie replied as the Crewman nodded then left to back to the Cargo Bay.

Jamie sat on the very comfortable couch to catch his breath for a few moments then maybe grab a Whiskey when his Comm sounded. Tapping his Comm "Commander O'Connell here, go ahead." "Commander this is the Command Yeoman, welcome aboard Sir. We're expecting some Romilan Officers, in the Main Shuttle Bay, in about an hour. Commodore Song would like you there since you are the Second Officer" she explained.

"Tell Commodore Song I'll be there with bells on" Jamie replied with a chuckle.

He heard the Yeomen giggle at his remark "Yes Sir I'll let her know."

Jamie got up off the couch to go into the bathroom to freshen up then change into a clean uniform as he thought "Well I guess we can't have the new Second Officer stinking up the place now can we."

After he was all set and stink free Jamie figured he'd better get a move on just in case he got turned around....it wouldn't make a very good impression if he walked in late to his first gathering on his new Ship.
