{Deck 5 - Main Lab}

Heather walked into the Main Lab eager to get to work on all those plant samples that had been collected on the Planet. She had her notes with her also on her PADD from the study while on the surface.

The first order of business was to fire up the brand new Photon Microscope. It was about half the size of an Electron Microscope but much more powerful; almost to the molecular level.

After she turned it on and allowed for a brief warmup period Heather grabbed the slides from yesterday and began to preview them one by one. The one thing that she found, which was a surprise, was just how integrated the Omega particles are in the cells of the plants. It is very possible that within a few more generations the particles will most likely be so integrated into the cells that it will make a new species of plant.

After a few more hours of examination, Heather was still coming to the same conclusions. The newish species of plants would explain how some of them had adapted to the environment; some of which should not have been ale to survive in this climate.

Heather was still wondering if the animal life had experienced the same transformations; although the probability was high that they had.

Now it was time to send off a report to Command and James as well:

TO: Commodore Song
Commander Jamie O'Connell
Lieutenant James McTavish

Subject: Tython Research

Priority: High

After several hours of examination concerning the plant life on Tython the research has shown that the Omega Particles have bonded to the plant cells on a molecular level. After a few more generations the plant life will most certainly evolve into a new species. This would account for the varieties that are thriving in this climate that should not be able to survive.

There is a high probability that the animal life is experiencing the same types of transformations as the plant life has.

Lieutenant Heather McTavish, PhD.
Biologist
USS Amandora

Now that the report had been sent off to Command as well as the Science Chief, it was time to call it a day.

Heather walked back to their Quarters wondering what James had planned for dinner.
