Trace could feel the energy of the men, Marine Country practically buzzed with anticipation. Williams was dating a girl from tactical, and the rumors about what the Dora was up to had spread like wildfire.

With the redeployment of most of the Marines, the Dora Marine deck seemed all bit vacant, despite all men being present and accounted for. With a chuckle, West imagined an enemy trying to take this deck. In their downtime, the men liked to employ all the latest weapons and toys in defense of Marine Country. Some though the bridge was the most secure space on a Starship…they were wrong.

His thoughts were interrupted when the ship went to Yellow Alert and suddenly, silence descended on Marine Country, to the point one could hear a pin drop. Yellow Alert for most folks aboard a Starship was largely a non-event…not so for marines. They had very specific protocol, and spang into motion with a precision he could be proud of.

Inside of five minutes, they were outfitted, armed, and mustered.

“Listen up!” He cried, bringing to bear all the authority he could muster. “Things could get hot. Open comms, get to your assigned stations and keep your head on a swivel. You hold your post unless you hear otherwise from me, and all comms go through me.”

“Sir yes sir!” the marines cried as one, and the men scattered.
During Yellow alert, Marines were assigned to guard different areas of the ship in order to supplement the Security crew with armament and tactical advice. Each man went to his assigned department while Trace headed for the bridge.
