Commander O'Connell shimmered into existence as he looked around "Report" came the order. Everything is nominal and holding at station keeping Sir."

"Excellent" Jamie responded "Comms open a ship wide channel" as Jamie got the nod "This Commander O'Connell, I have some news.....we're not quite done just yet. We've been ordered to remain aboard and Crew this Ship to the nearest Star Base.....so it looks like you're stuck with me for a little while longer" Jamie stated with a grin.

One of the Romulans spoke up "Sir I think I speak for the rest of the Crew; it would be our honor to serve under your command for a bit longer" he stated and everyone nodded in agreement.

The the Commander became quite serious for a few moments "It has been my honor to have served with such a great Crew.....the fact we've been able to meld two different cultures into one very effective Crew speaks volumes to your dedication and willingness to work together....well done everyone....O'Connell out" the Commander stated being vey proud of everyone on this Ship.

"Commander a communication just came in marked 'your eyes only' Sir" Comms stated.

"Send it to my Ready Room" Jamie ordered "Tactical you have the Conn" as O'Connell rose from his chair and went into his Office.

{Ready Room}

Jamie sat down and accessed the message, it was from Commander Green. As Jamie read through the message he couldn't believe his eyes and reread it again to make sure he hadn't missed anything.

O'Connell rose from his seat and walked over to the replicator "Computer, two sets of Lieutenant's pips and one set of Marine Captain's bars" came the request and a few minutes later he grabbed the new rank insignias. Tapping his Comm "1st Lieutenant West, Lieutenant JG's Dunjen and Devroe please report to my Ready Room" he ordered.

Moments later the chime went off "Enter' Jamie said as the three entered and stood before his desk "Everyone please have a seat, I have good news to share."

Not having any idea of what was about to happen the three Officers grabbed the offered seat.

O'Connell stood at his desk "First off I'd like to tell you how proud of all of you I am; you did an extraordinary job securing this Ship. I received a message from Commander Green moments ago informing me that everyone of you have been recommended for a Star Fleet Commendation Award and also the Silver Star." he explained with a big smile.

The three Officer were in shock and looked at each other in disbelief as Jamie continued "Not only that the three of you have received a field promotion which is my honor to give to you." he stated as he grabbed the first set of insignias.

Walking over to Trace, he stood "1st Lieutenant Tracey West you are hereby promoted to the rank of Marine Captain with all of the rights and privileges thereof....congratulations Captain West." Trace didn't quite know what to say at the moment and gave Jamie a nod and "Thank you Sir" as the two shook hands.

Then moving to Nix "Lieutenant JG Nix Dunjen you are hereby promoted to full Lieutenant with all the rights and privileges thereof....Congratulations Lieutenant Dunjen" Jamie said as the two shook hands. Nix could sense Dunjen saying "Well it's about damn time" which put a grin on Nix's face "Thank you Commander."

Jamie walked up to Heather and smiled "Lieutenant JG Devroe you are hereby promoted to full Lieutenant with all the rights and privileges thereof.....Congratulations Lieutenant Devroe" he said as he shook her hand; he would give her a kiss when they were in private. "Thank you Commander" Heather replied with a smile.

O'Connell looked at the three Officers "Well done everyone and there will be a formal ceremony aboard the Amandora at a later date; your dismissed" then the three newly promoted Officers left the Ready Room with the Commander following behind.

Once back on the Bridge O'Connell took the Center Seat and now would wait to hear from the Commodore.
