Cyndi tapped her com-badge "Doctor Bjorgo please report to my ready room. There is something we need to discuss."
Bjorgo, hearing the summons while in his office in Sickbay, tapped his badge. "Understood, Captain. On my way." Standing up behind his desk he moved around it and went out to Sickbay proper, eyes scanning the room. Ah, there he was. "Doctor Newman, hold down the fort while I go chat with the Captain, please." Receiving a nod of acknowledgement Tore left the medical bay, stepped into a lift, and arrived on the Bridge shortly thereafter. A yummy blonde Human gave him the eyes briefly, going up and down his body before she gave him the slightest grin to let him know she was interested. He ignored it...sort of. Never burn a bridge unless you have to. He gave her a nod and wink as he went to the Ready Room door and hit the chime, waiting patiently.
From the aft section of the Bridge the blonde gave Tore another sidelong glance, her eyes denoting a good time should they ever hook up. The good Doctor gave a slight grin in return, but nothing obvious.
Cyndi hearing the door chime "Come in," she called
Entering as prompted the Doctor walked up to the visitor seating area in front of Song's desk. "Greetings, Commodore. You wanted to see me?"
"Yes doctor I did please have a seat. How are things going in sick bay? Anything I need to be made aware of
"Not really, it's just Sickbay," he said with a grin while he sat down. "Typical crew injuries and little ones with owies."
"With kids that's an ongoing issue, my son is no different," Cyndi replied "I called you here for a good reason. I'm promoting you to the rank of full lieutenant. Ever since you came onto my ship you've gone above and beyond the calling."
"I just did what comes natural to me," Tore replied in a humble voice. "I am thankful for that confidence, Commodore. Being recognized is always a pleasure."
"You've earned it doctor. I'll make it offical in a few minutes," Cyndi said handing him the gold pip.

Once the Intel department had been set up Liza Kahn headed for the Bridge. Even though Alona had given her the department in her rush to leave, the position still needed to be approved by the commanding officer. And, if she got her way Kahn wasn't too keen on Intel, anyway. Intelligence on a starship could be handled by Security, or become a portion of it. Since she was a scientist and had practiced several professions with her previous hosts, Liza was looking for something more fulfilling. Perhaps she could switch out to something else. Arriving at the Ready Room door she hit the chime and waited, hoping the Commodore was free.
Looking at the doctor "Excuse me, your welcome to stay and I hope you do," Cyndi said "Come in!" she called
Did that sound a bit strained, Liza asked herself before she straightened up and entered, not expecting to see another officer talking with the CO. "I didn't know you were busy, Commodore. I can come back another," her eyes danced over the man's features as he looked back over his shoulder, and stumbled a moment in speech. He was a looker, for sure. "ti..ime. Another time."
Bjorgo grinned and waved her in with a casual swagger. "Nonsense, join the party Lieutenant...?"
"Oh..duh!" Liza got her poop in a group. "Lieutenant Kelliza Kahn, recently handed the Intel department by the departing, and somewhat grumpy, Romulan centurion. I just wanted to discuss the options, Commodore." She did come forward but remained standing.
"I just got word that Alona left the ship," Cyndi commented "Please have a seat, and I'd like to introduce the chief medical officer Doctor Bjorgo. I'm never too busy to talk to my officers and crew."
"A pleasure to meet you both," said Kelliza as she sat down. "I go by Liza for the most part. I have seen that there are other positions available for a department head. Security, Operations and Flight Control. I was hoping to take Security, and that way I can cover Intel as a part of Security."
"That would simplify things," said Bjorgo, thinking out loud. He looked back and forth at the ladies. He had been tapping at a PADD while Liza had been speaking. "Her record is impressive, Captain. She can cover all three of those departments with her experience. Kahn's previous hosts."
Liza cleared her throat slightly, not to be rude but to add something before another of them could speak. "Kahn and I are one, that's true. But, I want to earn any positions due to MY skills, as Liza Kahn. Not because of seven generations of hosts." She looked back and forth at her seniors.
"I can respect that, I once had an outstanding student when I taught at Starfleet who had like you seven generations of hosts. Many captains were not willing to give him a chance because he was as far as they were concerned over qualified," Cyndi commented "While your more than qualified for all three departments which one draws your attention? I don't want to over burden you. The ship carries a marine detail how do you feel about working with them?"
Kelliza's tone was respectful and conversational as she responded. "I have never been a marine, Commodore. I have served since the time of James Kirk, when marines were not available on every starship. When I commanded the USS Sovereign I didn't allow marines aboard since I found it redundant. Why have Security if you have marines? That kind of thing. I am a tactical officer and I have spent my fair share of time in the trenches when fighting enemies. Klingons, Romulans, Borg, Dominion--I have fought them all at one level or another. As a soldier. I can take one of those positions and still aid in the others I am qualified for."
"So," asked Bjorgo. "You are saying no to being a marine?"
"Yes, Doctor." Answered Liza. "If I wanted to be a marine I would be. I joined Starfleet, not the military." She then looked to the Commodore. "If it is an issue, Commodore, then I will remain your Intel chief, if you'll allow."
"It's not an issue," Cyndi assured her "Merely a question was all. So are you saying you'd like Chief of Security and Chief of Intel?"
Liza gave a slight nod. "Only until someone comes along to take over Intel. When there is no chief then the department falls under the XO. I am offering to aid the Exec in that situation. For me, being Security Chief is enough, with a Secondary in Boatswain (bosun). If we do go the soldier route, and switch out Marines for the Starfleet Rangers, then I would gladly take command of such an elite special forces group. During the Dominion war they got into, and out of, Jem'hadar facilities without a shot fired, causing irreparable damage to Dominion holdings and forces with demolitions."
Bjorgo liked this woman. She spoke plainly and wasn't asking for much, aside from the multiple interests. He looked to Song. "Chief of Security and a boatswain. As a member of your command staff, Commodore, I am not opposed to her choices."
"Nor am I," Cyndi replied "Make sure you let the first officer know. The Exec is Commander Will Raymond. And welcome aboard. At this point I'm undecided about the marines or special forces. Something I'll do some thinking on."
Kahn was both satisfied and happy, standing as the Commodore finished speaking. She gave a nod to each. "Thank you, both. A pleasure to meet you as I leave you to your business. Good day." Liza backed up away from the chairs, did an about face and left the Ready Room.
Bjorgo grinned as he watched her leave, his eyes coming back to Song. "Something tells me that our Security department is going to be on par with the marines before too long." He stood, still facing the CO.
Cyndi got to her feet as well "I believe your right. I've kept you long enough doctor, congratulations again."
"And to you, Commodore," replied Bjorgo, stopping as he was just about to turn and walk out. "One more thing. Counselor Raymond ate a piece of fruit provided by this Brol creature. Allegedly, that piece of fruit is the reason why she is pregnant with a Brol-human cross. Since this has never been seen before, and trees can't breed with humanoids, it presents my Sickbay with quite a few problems. So, as CMO, I want Miss Amethyst kept from away teams until she can learn NOT to eat whatever is in front of her while off the ship. Had it been some village or colony, understandable. But, this. This was done on an empty ship that still had yet to be determined as safe. Had it contained a contagion or a virus then the entire away team would have needed to be quarantined until we figured it out. Just something for you to consider, Commodore. Thank you for your time, as always." He then began to walk towards the door, leaving promptly and heading straight to the lift.
