Chief Jennifer Lacewell was at one of the science stations on the bridge monitoring telemetry according to Lt. Onak's orders when she noticed a peculiar pattern.

Lt. Onak had previously picked up a tachyon surge and spatial anomalies in the area of space they had been focused on previously.

"Pay close attention Chief. I have something here that could be another possible ship. The readings are a bit clearer than the other's therefore I believe we do indeed have a vessel."

"Aye sir!" she had responded, and her vigilance had finally paid off. "Sir, I believe I have a communication here. I have a start point and an end point but the message is heavily encrypted."
She tapped a few buttons. "I've sent the location information to your station sir,"

Onak looked at the information and began to set up an interception strategy. "Thank you Chief."

"I'll need more than a few moments to decrypt sir. There seems to be several layers of encryption." She paused and stared at a monitor for a while. "Well, I'll be damned." she swore. "I've seen this type of decryption before sir. It was occasionally utilized by the Maqui back in Eddington's day. It has an unusual algorithm within that morphs every few seconds. It will be possible to decrypt but it will be very tedious." She sank back in her chair and blew out a sharp breath.

Onak walked over to her and placed a hand on her shoulder. "I believe you can do this Chief. If I did not you would not be here."

"Yes sir." She sat for a moment, then turned to a yeoman. "Coffee! Bring me coffee...and keep it coming!"
