Mission:
Vanished
Location: USS Euphrates
Timeline: current
ON:
After closing the channel with the Amandora Green began to pull items from the footlocker she had had loaded aboard the runabout. The USS Euphrates was in orbit over the world to which the ant beings lay claim. Stripping down to her knickers Ro then donned the temperature control body glove, which was, like everything else in the chest, hand made by yours truly. Of course, Cosmo and Nira had both been of great help. The Puazi knowledge of nanites and nano-tech was next level, then add to that Cosmo's exceptional skills with technology. Green had done all the work as the other two had given her ideas and data to create with. As with Nira's outfit, this body glove was loose fitting for ease of sliding it on, but once the body was wrapped wtihin it it snugged up and tightened like another layer of skin, with a portion of the nanites within the material becoming armored sections in all the bendable, creasing areas of the catsuit.
The all black catsuit sealed itself up the front of her body where a zipper should have been, but was not. Sealed and closed, with a high collar brimming with further nanites ready to create a balaclava over her head for when she donned her helmet, which was still within the foot locker. Reaching down into the chest Green brought forth the thigh and calf armor, split in half for each piece for front and back. As each section was held in place momentarily, front and back, the nano-tech within the bodysuit latched onto the armor pieces, holding them in place and also lockeing them together, machined so well as to barely show a seam where front and back pieces met. Arms and torso armor were next, then the shoulder paldrons, and finally the gauntlets which went halfway up her faorearms before adhering and combining with the suit. Over the top of the gauntlets she placed bracers, thich enough to protect her forearms and to also provide retractable blades and spikes for defense and combat. The last items to be donned were the boots. Ro took them from the locker and stood them upright, the front portion of the boot folding open for her to easily place her foot into before they closed up and snugged around her feet and calves. Her armor was slate grey, and as she stood there completely covered and encased in it she reached up to the collar, running her finger along the edging along the back of her neck. She felt the material grow out, and once finished she then pulled the newly created hood up over her head, encompassing her scalp and skull, the French braid still in place. The hood began to shrink down and tighten around her head, leaving eye holes, ear holes and an opening for her mouth and nostrils.
Squatting, Green reached in for her T-visored helmet. Cosmo, her droid companion rolled up beside her, wharbling and hooting in his own unique dialect. "I know we haven't field tested it yet, little buddy. But, no time like the present, right?" Cosmo gave a low yield groan. "We'll be fine, Cosmo. I trust your work and my own. Don't you trust yourself?"
Cosmo perked up, going into a long series of bleeps and whistles.
Green raised a defensive hand as she smiled and then chuckled. "Okay, okay. I was kidding. Is the verbobrain-CPU ready?"
Cosmo said yes and one of his many pop out hatches on his rotund body opened and extended, revealing a one-of-a-kind chip. Green removed it from the slot and Cosmo retracted the arm as she touched a small section beneath her left arm, which opened to reveal a slot perfectly designed gfor the chip, whcih she locked in place before the armor once again closed over that area. With chip in place Green then donned the helmet, again allowi8ng the nanites to connect everything and adhere to the lightly armored catsuit. The diodes along her temples and atop her head seated properly and powered the suit, With a heads-up-display appearing internally on her visor. Ro had to take several breaths, opening and closing her eyes a few times, squeezing them tight so her mind could adjust to the computerized data now feeding into her synapses. OPeneing her eyes, using the CORE to align herself, Green let out a few sharp breaths as her body was now in perfect synchronization with the armor and its array of sensors and gadgets. Cosmo bleeped from within her helmet, asking if she was okay. The chip was a clone of his own vast datacore, and he would be her co-pilot internally as she used her suit to go planetside. "Alright, let's run a full diagnostic of all systems."
Ro's eyes watched the datastream on the HUD as Cosmo took thee suit through all its preflight checks. Flaps, energy shields, micro-missile darts, taser darts, the works. He then told her they were ready for the jetpack. Retrieving the jetpack from the bottom of the chest, Ro lifted it up over her head and lowered it slowly, guided by the HUD for the slots it would need to lock into. Once the contact was made for pack to back slots, the suit took opver and dropped the device into the proper position for full flight mode. It had taken months for Green to build the thing, taking from EVA suit packs and adding in repulsors, anti-grav, and ion drive rocket vents for both speed and maneuverability. The best part, no fuel. The pack ran off of a micro-fusion core and had all the independant power it could ever need, which also fed the suit, which had its own power cells that were good for days at a time.
Now standing in her full armor, Green donned the dual pistol rig, with tactical thigh holsters over top on her armor, and various pockets and pouches along the garment for utility. The final item added to her belt was the teral'n that once belonged to her lover Tore Bjorgo. With all items donned and ready to rock, Green went to the front.
(The armor is Mandalorian in design, for a visual reference)
Ensign Jazmin glanced back over her shoulder, then did a double take. "Commander Green?"
"Yes, it's me, Ensign." Green's voice was clear as day, but there was an element of coming through a speaker/filter mask. "Activate Bridge forcefield for yourself. I'll be exiting out the starboard hatch. It could get a bit cold and windy for you," she said flippantly, trying to keep the Ensign at ease.
Jazmin did so without question, the field appearing momentarily as it activated, before becoming invisible to the eye. "Quite the EVA suit, Commander."
Cosmo rolled onto the Bridge and took a position between the pilot seats, next to Jazmin's right thigh. He closed down so he could focus on his cloned datacore in the suit of armor.
"Ready for exit," stated Green, standing a meter back from the hatch, crossing her arms over her chest to protect her arms from slamming into the hull braces as she would be shot into space in the upper atmosphere.
Jazmin took in a breath and let it out. "Egress...now!" She tapped the key.
The hatch opened and Green was sucked outside instantly. Her catsuit protected her from the rigors of space since she had designed it to act as an EVA suit when needed. And, orbital jumps required such things. Once flung away from the USS Euphrates Green put her arms along her sides, becoming a human dart diving head first through atmosphere.
Ensign Jazmin Al-Sahir clsoed the hatch as soon as the Commander was whisked away by vacuum, and then it dawned on her. "Wait, she didn't have a chute pack." She quickly tapped the comm key. "Commander Green. You forgot a chute pack!"
Green, watching the data stream, smiled and responded. "No, Jazmin. They're built into various places on the armor. The jet pack should suffice, but if not, there are backup systems."
"Thank the stars, Commander. I really didn't want to land and scrape up what would be left of you."
This time Ro gave a giggle. "I wouldn't want that job either, Ensign. Rest assured, I'll be fine. Until I contact you we will now go into comm silence. Green, out."
The channel closed as Jazmin angled the runabout to return to low orbit to await contact by the Commander.
