Post Number 89 Crippling Two Ships

Posted on Fri May 12th, 2023 @ 12:11am by Lieutenant Tara Herculoid PhD

Mission: Vanished
Location: Space
Timeline: Current

ON:

Tara had monitored communications between the boarding party to rescue Alesha, the shuttle sent out to rescue Alesha and the Amandora. Sensors picked up phaser fire, Tara scanned Brisco’s ship and let out whoop when the sensors showed most of the bridge monitors and controls were damaged or destroyed. But Brisco was not dead in the water…at least not yet. Still cloaked Tara moved the fighter behind the Nebula Class, targeting the engines she fired crippling the ship. He’d need a tow to move. Grinning she banked the fighter away and checked the feeds coming in. The Orion ship was preparing to move. Tara had learned that the crews of the three ships were being held on a planet deep in Orion space. If that Orion ship got underway they’d head there and there was no telling what would happen to the crews of the ships. Commander Green was doing her best to free the crews from the Star Base.

Banking the fighter Tara flew in behind the Orion ship and scanned it; the warp drive was coming online indicating they were getting ready to get underway. There was only one way to guarantee they’d not be able to get to that planet and that was to take out the engines and communications. Scanning the ship again Tara found the communication array, switching on the targeting sensors, getting a lock Tara fired the phasers taking out the communications. Smiling as she rolled to the aft section of the ship, scanning it again the shields were being raised as they were doing their best to find out who had fired on them. Targeting the engines Tara got as close as she dared, and fired a torpedo directly at the Orion ship, no sooner had the torpedo cleared the fighter, Tara banked and rolled the fighter away just as the torpedo hit the port side engine crippling it. The advantage of having a fighter that could cloak and fire cloaked had worked to her advantage. Neither ship had picked her up.

It was time to head back to the Amandora, Tara signaled the Amandora and as soon as permission as given to land she dropped the cloak and let the tractor beam take over the fighter to bring it on board and over to where the fighters were parked. Shutting down the systems Tara raised the canopy and climbed out of the fighter. Patting it as she set the computer to recharge the weapons and systems on it. Once that was done Tara set the alarms on the fighter and headed for her quarters to change from her flight suit and back into her Federation uniform. Then she’d send her report to the command staff and go see Alesha.
