Just as his impromptu meeting ended with a couple of the new Officers, Commander O'Connell heard the summons from the Commodore. He excused himself and entered the nearest Lift "Deck 1 Bridge" came the request as the Lift was smoothly off.

When Jamie reached Deck 5 the Lift stopped and the doors swooshed open as Lieutenant Zolon stepped aboard "Hi Lieutenant, going my way" he asked with a grin.

Cass smiled "It would appear so" she stated with a grin.

"So how was your first Ops Mission" he queried not having the chance to ask Cass before.

"It went well; I was very impressed with Lieutenants Dunjen and Devroe. It's like each knew what the other was thinking before either of them ever said a word" she stated.

Jamie couldn't help but chuckle "Yes those two are certainly a force to be reckoned with, that's for certain. But they do spend a lot of their time training and working together so your observations really doesn't come as much of a surprise" he commented.

"No I suppose not; I have to say though they did treat me more or less as part of the team which was refreshing" Cass replied, then she paused for a moment "If I may be so bold as to ask Commander, isn't one of them your wife."

"Yes Heather is my better half but she prefers to use her maiden name because of my rank....she doesn't want any special treatment just because she's a Commander's wife" Jamie explained.

Cassandra thought for a moment "I can see her point, I wouldn't want any special treatment either; I'd want to make my own way in Star Fleet" she answered.

"Exactly and I'm fine with her decision; have been from the get go" Jamie commented as the Lift doors swooshed open. Gesturing with his hand "After you Lieutenant" as both Officers stepped off the Lift. Cass headed towards the Science Stations while Jamie went to the Command area and grabbed his seat next to Cyndi.
