Mission:
Wedding Blues And Trouble
Location: various
Timeline: current/somewhere in between
ON:
As per usual, Lieutenant Sheyla was down in the marine berth, practicing hand-to-hand with them, melee, and firearms. As a Security trained tactical officer she was a soldier too, and given her species, that came naturally to her. All Andorians, no matter their profession, had some combat training. Sure, there were those who chose to eschew those skills for other skills in academia, but they still had that basic training, that understanding that at any given time they may be called to fight. The Vulcans had learned that lesson the hard way for many years before the formation of the Federation, when Andor and Vulcan were at war. Thanks to Captain Archer and the NX-01, and Commander Shran of the Imperial Guard, peace was established between them. After a few harrowing events the two came to trust one another, and when the UFP was first proposed, both Vulcans and Andorians were part of the original 5 species to bring it together. It was a matter of pride for the people of Andor, to be asked to help build and protect such a noble idea.
So, here she was, once a day. Sheyla got thumped and bumped, but gave as good as she got every time. Barnes trained his people well, and they had their own phaser range/holodeck down here for them to train in, in all types of terrain, and even for space excursions. The Major had even scanned her and then replicated a black set of combat fatigues, designed like those from the 2260's (Strange New Worlds away gear). She would come down, change, get beat on, then shower and redress in her standard uniform. That was something she would have to pass by Commander Green. Since Nira got to wear her little bikini style garb with Starfleet bits on it, maybe the Commander would let her wear the Uniform from the 2260's. A pullover blue shirt was simpler, and as a physician, would be more comfortable to wear while seeing to patients. Plus, as a female, knee high calf boots, black, with pants tucked into them was classier and more utilitarian than pajamas with a tunic. Plus, she was not a fan of the mock neck shirts beneath the tunic. Too many layers seemed pointless, especially for someone who did not get cold very easily.
Having finished her daily exercise routine, Sheyla left the marines, making sure to personally say goodbye to Major Barnes. That man definitely got her dual circulatory system running full bore...among other things. What was it a Human friend had said to her once while out partying in San Francisco during her Academy days? Oh, yes. He made her feel "all gooey" was the term. Thinking on that now made Sheyla giggle to herself, and she was glad no one was in this section of corridor to see some crazy Andorian giggling to herself. Might be cause to get the doctor checked out by the doctor. Another giggle. Stop it, she told herself as she meandered down the halls.
