Mission: Wedding Blues And Trouble
Location: Kristian's Quarters
Timeline: Current

ON:

Tara after dealing with the Princess headed to Kristian's quarters where she knew her aunt was. Palming the door sensor she waited for Narla to open the door,"

Narla hearing the door chime minimized the condolence letter she was working on and went to the door and opened it, seeing her niece standing there, stepped aside to let her in. "What brings you here?"

"I need to vent to someone who understands Royals and your the only one who totally understands since mum is your sister," Tara said following Narla into the living room and took a seat on the couch. She reverted to the Amazon language

Narla sat in a chair across from Tara "I take it your referring to the Princess the ship picked up. What seems to be the problem?" Narla asked She too reverted to their native language

Tara nodded "Can you please explain why some royals are so damned hard to deal with? Mum and dad raised me not to look down on people. That Princess thinks everyone is beneath her."

Narla leaned back in her seat "Remember your mum was not born royalty, she was a commoner until your dad started dating her and when he married her Rayna became a Queen that day and was coordinated at the same time so your mum had a humble beginning and that's how they raised you. They wanted you to be close to the people you'd one day rule and not to think of yourself as being above them. I'm proud to say you've done that and the people of our world highly respect you because your not above them."

"Zoreen needs to understand that and she even went as far as to tell me that because the commodore and I both are Princesses that I'm her equal and should not be taking her orders," Tara said

"She has a lot to learn, did you get through to her?" Narla asked

"I don't know, I told her how things were," Tara replied

"I bet that went over well," Narla commented

Tara giggled as she filled her aunt in on what had transpired in the Princess's quarters and that even had Narla laughing.

"I'd have done the same thing, Richard made Raffie and Kristian clean up after themselves even though they were raised in the palace. We made it clear to your parents they were not to get special treatment," Narla said once she got over her laughing fit."

"Aunt Narla I so badly wanted to take her over my knee, lord knows I got enough of that growing up."

"Someone needs to take her over a knee that's for sure," Narla replied "You did well, I know your doing double duty as assistant science chief and the ship's chief diplomatic officer. And before you ask how I know. remember I get all the reports as there are marines aboard and your cousin and I talk too. But it;t all done in confidence."

Tara nodded "I know, I do feel sorry for the Cardassian she's to marry. Looks like I have my work cut out for me."

Remember one thing, diplomacy has it's boundaries, you can only do so much. The Cardassan representative aboard will have to work with her too and you should be in on that BUT only if he wants you to," Narla said

Tara stood as did Narla "Thank you for listening, I have a report to file and see what is next."

Narla hugged her niece "You'll do fine, I'm here if you need me. Now I have a letter to finish and you have work to do as well."

"Thank you Aunt Narla," Tara said as she headed out.

Narla resumed her seat at the desk and brought up the condolence letter to Corporal Cristina Scabbia on the loss of her brother. This was one of the parts of her job Narla disliked but it had to be done. Death was never easy.
