Post Number 60 Clearing Space Debris

Mission:
Hijacked
Location: Speace Around Star Base Danvers
Timeline: Current
ON:
Tara, Shannon and Alona had excited the star base together then each went her own way, Tara after making sure no enemy ships were in the area swung back to check on the star base, several pieces that were small enough to destroy with no impact on the planet below, switching on the phasers, Tara turned the fighter and headed towared the first chunk, pressing the fire button on the control stick and fired, the check of debris was destroyed.
After destroying the smaller pieces all that was left were the large chunks that were far too big to fire on as they’d break apart and head to the planet. Spotting a large chunk of debris that was heading fast toward the planet, Tara fired the thrusters on the fighter and headed for it, it took several minutes for her to catch it as it had been caught by the gravity well of the planet. Upon reaching it Tara swung her fighter in front of it, turned so the aft section was in front of it. Hitting a command on the console Tara engaged the tractor beam and locked onto the chunk of debris, once it was locked next step was to tow it as fast as she could to the sun.
Engaging the engines Tara gunned the fighter and headed for the sun. Once enough speed and forward momentum was reached Tara disengaged the tractor beam, banked the fighter out of the way and came in behind the debris she’d been towing, slowing her fighter Tara watched as the chunk of debris continued on its heading toward the sun. It took only a few minutes for the sun’s gravity to engage it pulling it in she watched as the chuck of debris burnt up.
Nodding in Tara repeated the process for several more chunks of debris, some she could destroy some she had to take to the sun, with three fighters out the debris field was being cleared up well.
Tara had often wondered if she’d made the right call in going into science rather that flying fighters. But no Alesha was far more skilled than she’d ever be, couple that with the fact her dad was an accomplished pilot in his own right Alesha was far more skilled in piloting a fighter than she’d ever be. Tara was always grateful that Alesha would trust her in the fighter and with her off to find Amber the fighter was at her disposal just as long as she didn’t destroy it.
After several hours Tara headed back to the star base, slowing she entered the landing bay, let down the landing gear and the fighter came to a soft landing. Shutting everything down, Tara raised the canopy and stepped out of the fighter, dropping her helmet on the seat as she climbed down, setting the craft to charge and then setting the alarms Tara patted the fighter’s hull glad to have the chance to fly it and headed out of the landing bay.
