Tara landed her fighter, shut down the engines, removed her helmet, raised the canopy and climbed down. Seeing Kalief she smiled as she walked over to greet him “I was beginning to think you were avoiding me.”

Kalief shook his head and grinned “The Old Crow has kept me busy,” he nodded at the fighter “How is it handing? Any word from my daughter?”

“Fighter’s fine, handles like a dream, good job on the design. As for any word from Alesha? No, but you and Marlaina raised a strong daughter. If I do hear from her I’ll let the two of you know,” Tara said “I’m sure the commodore will keep you two posted as well. Do you or Marlaina miss Starfleet?”

Kalief shook his head as they walked from the landing pads. “Part of us does, but not enough to return. Command said they’d keep us on inactive and inform them when we’re ready.”

“Think you’ll ever be ready to return?” Tara asked

“I don’t know, we do keep up on things,” Kalief said “I’m also to tell you your mum and dad want to see you in the garden, they’re curious as to what you found on the moon.”

“Thank you Kalief,” Tara said as she hurried off to meet her parents

A few minutes later Tara walked into the garden where her parents were waiting for her, Tara handed her father the PADD with her report on the moon, Zelcore after reading what was on it handed it over to his wife

“And your sure of this?”Zelcore asked

“Positive, a second species is on the moon, I triple scanned everything and they have to have been there and were just missed,” Tara said

“Are they aware of each other yet?” Rayna asked setting the PADD down and looking at her daughter

“I’m not sure mum, but we do need to make sure no one goes to that moon except those who are already cleared to be there and no one is to make contact. They need to continue to develop as they have been,” Tara said

“It will be ordered, I’ll order a do not approach be implemented there,” Zelcore said

Tara thought for a few minutes “Mum, dad why don’t we just have defense shield put around that moon? That will prevent anyone going near it and next time I get leave I’ll go check in it.”

“You’re the one who discovered life on that moon, you give the order and it will stand, I’ll have fighters patrol close to it but no one will be permitted on that moon without your orders,” Rayna said getting to her feet. “Job well done daughter.”

“Thank you, both of you, now if you don’t mind I want to find Kristian and see how things are going with Jimmy,” Tara commented, seeing her parents nod she headed out to find her cousin.
