Mission:
Star Base Mercury
Location: Starbase Mercury - Reactant Control Room
Timeline: Current
Over forty-eight hours later, and over two crew rotations, the team had chances to sleep for a few hours on the station, and then grab something to eat from their packed lunches. They had a lot of work to do, which was now nearly completed.
Damien was reviewing the tricorder scans of the core matrix after having to de-ionize the core fluxing agents. The assembly was now secured, as was the interlocking routers.
"Fine, set up if I do say so myself." Damien puffed his chest a bit happy. "Of course, all our work made this easy as cake." He grinned.
"Mnnn Cake. I could go for some right about now." Eva chuckled.
"Yeah, I could eat again soon." Clinton patted his chest.
"So could I…" Damien nodded.
They stopped, and the crew had a whole cake replicated for lunch with coffee. The amount of sugar baking and coffee had them all revved up for the last portion of the assembly. Damien would need two extra pairs of eyes and hands for the main computer set up for the StarBase reactor core.
Setting in the various pieces of isolinear and combined isotronic gel packs, the base core had begun to warm up it's coolant and injector systems.
"Core reactant gradient reaching .0065 percentage and fluxing," Eva reported with her tricorder.
"Inserting the initiation certificate chip now." Damien recorded and imparted the information into the matrix assembly central computer core.
= Command verification needed. = The core computer reported.
Damien checked on his padd for the verification codes that were sent to him on the main set up grand schematic display.
"Command Prompt. Jaxa Alpha Cortez Lincoln Landry Echo. Niner Niner Zero. Prompt Command." Damien looked at his silver wrist chronometer for the time and then entered the prompts manually.
= Command coding positive. = The main computer reported. The diagnostic display then reviewed the intermittent data.
= Level One Diagnostics Completed. Core Assembly operational procedure Pre-Coolant, Injector Actors Positive. = The computer reported once more.
"Alright," Damien then began to place the computer panels back and secure them with his plasma gun, in a neat, tightly fashion. Several other panelings needed to be secured down. This was also done by Ensign Humphreys and Lt. JG Clinton.
As they all stood around the core. They patiently waited. They were now to bring StarBase Mercury to life, with the core becoming operational for its foreseeable lifetime usage.
"Engage computer core, Engage dynamic coolant, injector sequencing. Starting Level 04. Enact." He ordered the main computer.
With that, the three of them then witnessed the powerful core flux online. The generator capacity and pressurization of the vertical and lateral appendages blue Hughes. The room quickly transferred from contingent power to take over the main power of the station.
= Core operations are exceeding .99 percent and optimal rising. = The computer reported a very successful core startup.
The three of them cheered. Throughout two and half days, having spent hours finely tuning the matrix assembly to now see their work paid off. The room of the generator core flashing blue Hughes every few seconds in time to the reactant. They stayed on for another few hours, checking and re-checking the core. After they had packed up their tools and crates, Damien tagged his communications badge.
=^= Engineering Away Team, to Commodore Song. Starbase Mercury's central reactant core is now fully operational, ready to be handed over. =^=
With that, the team shook the hands of each other and tiredly called it a day as some maintenance staff moved in to monitor and step up the operations of the Mercury Engineering Department.
