Once the meal was over the women cleared the remains of the meal, the children got up and began to play happily as they ran around the settlement all the time under the watchful eye of the adults. The children didn’t venture too far from the adults. Once in a while one or two of the children would stop at the edge of the woods and look into them but a call from an adult and they’d scamper back,

Kristan couldn’t help but giggle at the antics of the children. It reminded her of her and her brother Raffie growing up how they’d chase each other.

Zora hearing Kristian giggle walked over with two other women, one very pregnant; the women took seats next to Kristian.

“These are Willow and Fern,,” Zora said pointing to each of the women. Fern was the pregnant one. “You have children?”

“No, I have no mate, it bad to have child with no mate,”Kristian said

Willow nodded “I have mate, he good mate. Provide good, good hunter. You want mate? I can find you mate.”

“I have one at my village who will be my mate in three moons,” Kristian said thinking fast.

Fern spotted the bone necklace around Kristian’s neck, reached out and touched it. “You healer? We need healers here,”

“Yes I healer,”Kristian replied glad she’d chosen to wear the necklace as it had been given to her by the chief of the protected moon of her home planet that like this world was primitive. “Why you need healer?”

Fern patted her stomach. I close to baby time. Last baby time baby came with spots and didn’t go away. Baby no need spots. Shaman no know why or how to fix. You fix?”

“I have to see baby and spots. Before I can see if I fix or not,” Kristian said.

Zora nodded "Sound good, thank you for wanting to try help. Big family hut is ready for you and your family that come with you. It big hut, has sleeping mats. They soft and comfy. Tell your family it ready when you need it."

"Thank you, I tell them," Kristian said getting to her feet. "I will look at some people."
