Kristian walked into the room where the hammocks were, they were suspended between two poles, they looked to be woven out of bamboo making them strong, Several furs were on each hammock. Picking up the furs she laid it on the bamboo to make it softer to sleep on. The furs were soft, and while one would think they smelled that was not the case. The furs had a fresh scent to them.

The last time she’d slept on a hammock had been on her home planet when her family had gone camping and as her mother had said they were going to rough it. Kristian couldn’t help but giggle as she thought back to seeing her mother as she claimed they were going to rough it. Marlaina’s idea of roughing it was to put her and her kid brother in hammocks with a tarp over the top while her parents slept in a tent on air mattresses, Raffie had complained loudly about being stuck out in the wild while mom and dad were cozy and comfy.

Kristian had enjoyed the gentle swaying of the hammock as the breeze caused it to sway lulling her to sleep. That had been the best sleep she remembered ever having. Two years later and it was off to Starfleet. Kristian smiled at the memory, it had been the last time the family had an outing. Making a mental note to contact her parents and tell them about the hammock’s when they were back on the ship. Picking up the furs Kristian climbed onto the hammock, pulled the furs over and drifted off to sleep.
