Mission: Echoes Of The Past-4
Location: Corridors to the bridge

Benjamin was heading to the bridge, he had heard the call coming from his commanding officer. He was down in his ready room going over last night's duty shift reports and notating the mundane procedure of everything.

The crew had just gotten off of shore leave drama this time around he didn't go anywhere he mainly stayed put and recouped but now he knew that the Amandora was heading back out.

Benjamin grabbed a couple data pads from his desk, he decided while he walked you'd finish reading his report so he could approve them.

"Commander, just finishing up a couple reports I see?" Kalina ass with the big smile on her face she too was also heading to the bridge.

"Correct Lieutenant Johnson, I sometimes think first officers need their own yeomans." Benjamin suggested with the grin on his face, he knew was impractical but he just didn't like doing mundane boring reports, but he knew if he wanted his own command of his own ship. He would have to do these mundane reports. If he became a captain, he would have a yeoman until then he just had to suffer through it.

Kalina had a big grin on her face, and she thought about it for a second and then decided the best way to answer him was with humor. "I don't know how you do it sir, I'm just happy playing the ship." She meant that playfully.

"Give it time Kalina, someday the command chair will be calling your name." Benjamin suggested as a continued walking down the corridor heading to the turbolift.

"To be honest that chair kind of scares me." Kalina pointed out in a moment of sincerity. She wasn't lying when she said it scared her.

"And not the kind of response I expected for me lieutenant, you seem like you're well put together in your confidence makes me think that you'd be a good candidate for the command program." Benjamin suggested to her, trying to build her up but also hoping maybe she would indulge him a little bit and figure out why she was scared of the chair.

"That's very sweet of you to say sir, but the idea of being in command of a crew and be able to decide their fate it just seems like a lot to take on maybe my time will change when I get a little older but I can't imagine right now tomorrow being command of a ship and being responsible for all those lives. Maybe the old things true, with age comes wisdom and responsibility that you can't fathom in your twenties."

Benjamin looked at her, there was a lot of truth but she just said there but he could also see now why she said that. And she was right to a point it was a big commitment, telling people who can live and who doesn't based on their duties and based on the situation that was a lot to take in.

"There is a lot of reward to it and you're right that is a definite concern and you want your leaders to be trained properly you don't want them to send you in foolishly. But I have a feeling, based on your skills in your marriage I know you'd make the right decision during the right times but you don't have to worry you're not going to be in command of your own ship tomorrow you got some time still." Benjamin said with the big warm smile on his face as the two of them headed into the turbo lift, the next stop the bridge.
