Post Number 37 Cousins Catch Up

Tara had received a message from her cousin to meet for lunch. They had a lot or catching up to do. Tara had readily accepted. Walking into Ten Forward Tara spotted a table near the window with a good view of the space station they were docked at.

Kristian finished up her last patient and headed for Ten Forward. Walking in she spotted Tara off to one side who was waiving at her. Smiling Kristian walked over to where he cousin was seated and took a seat across from her. “I had no idea you were assigned to this ship,” Kristian said reverting to their native language.

“I know, we lost touch with each other,” Tara replied reverting to the Amazon language as well. “How are you liking the ship so far?”

“It’s great, a lot bigger than my last ship, I’ve met the commodore and she seems fair. The CMO is very nice and I look forward to working with him,” Kristian said

“Commodore Song is fair but don’t cross her,” Tara cautioned “Have you met anyone else?”

“I was in the gym working off that long shuttle ride and met the chief engineer. I’m afraid I let our little secret out,” Kristian commented

“No worries, I think a few on the ship know but as long as we don’t mention it we’re good,” Tara answered “What do you think of him?”

“I think he’s cute,” Kristian replied

Tara nodded “That he is. How is your brother?”

“Raffie’s still on Earth. He seems to like Earth but I do know he’s applied to a ship. I believe he said the Westwind,” Kristian said “Mum and dad are doing well, both are talking about retiring and I just can’t see either of them not being active in Starfleet. That’s all they’ve done, and how they met.”

“But your folks are twenty year space veterans, I wouldn’t be afraid to bet that your mum takes an office position and same with your dad,” Tara commented

“They might but mum is homesick and misses your mum,” Kristian replied

“Tara nodded “I well understand I miss home too.”

“Why don’t we after shift go over to the star base and see what is going on and if we can help in anyway and maybe do some shopping?” Kristian suggested

“Sounds great,” Tara said checking the time “I need to get back to the lab.”

“And I should check in with sick bay and oh dear cousin your physical is due so you need to get in or I’ll come looking for you,” Kristian teased

“Yeah, yeah I know, I’ll be in as soon as your caught up and are settled,” Tara said getting to her feet

The two cousins headed from sick bay each going her own way.
