Amethyst sat and watched as the man who was holding her phaser paced back and forth, she could sense his fear, worry, and determination. Whatever was going on he wasn’t going to give up easily. “Why are you doing this?” She gave him a concerned look.

“I told you, I need off this station!” He kept pacing. “What better way to get what I want than to hold the wife of a Starship Commander!” He paused as a communicator he had in his pocket went off. Putting some distance between himself and Amethyst she could just about hear the conversation that was going on. It seemed this man wasn’t all he seemed. He was a spy and it seemed he was very close to being caught out now that Starfleet was taking up a permanent presence on the station.

Amethyst’s thoughts changed to Will. She needed him now more than ever. ((Will where are you! I need you!))

Will remained behind the line on the hanger deck but he could feel Amethyst inside his head.

(( Imzadi? Where are you.))

Amethyst breathed a small sigh of relief as she heard her husband’s voice in her mind. ((In the cargo bay ... he’s holding me ...)) her words were cut short as the desperate man approached her from behind holding his knife to her throat.

“Stop that! I’m not stupid. I can hear you!” He tapped his head. “Not all telepaths believe in that privacy rubbish you Federation do gooders preach!” He lowered the knife. “Still it’ll bring him here and he’ll do whatever I want to get you back.”

“If he doesn’t?” Amethyst turned her head to look in her captors eyes.

“Then there’s no reason why lthey couldn’t keep your body alive to save the child, doesn’t mean you’d ever have to be conscious again.” He gave her a chilling look. “I’m no monster, but I’ll do what I have to do.”

Will rushed to an exit and followed it down a deck to the cargo hold. Seeing two security and a Marine outside will was surprised when Kordell joined him.

" We've got this sir. Excuse me folks the Commander is here." said Kordell.

" Nobody's entering here Lieutenant," the Marine replied.

" This man's wife is in danger. He deserves the right to avenge if they kill her."

" We have orders." replied the Marine.

" So do I. I am pulling rank. I am,the new assistant chief of security here. I say this man enters that door," Kordell ordered.

Will was sad to hear Kordell was leaving but glad he had an advocate.

Entering the door Will entered the scene.

Hearing the commotion, Hurd turned just the Commander walked in. His eyes still black as night, he said, his voice still cold, "Sir, you are too emotional, and unpredictable to be in here, so wait outside, or I'll have you escorted out by my Marines and face the consequences later". After a moment he added, "We are going to get her back ok, that I promise, and then me and the guy who's holding her hostage are going to have a few words", he cracked an evil smile, "on how to treat Women".

Cyndi looked at her XO "Commander you will stand down. there is no way I will even remotely let you in there.I am ordering you to back off and let Captain Hurd and security handle it. Your too close to the situation."

" Captain that is my wife....who the hell has here anyways? What do they want?" Will emotionally replied.

"I don't know, but sir, he's going to pay for this, that I promise". Turning to his Men, Hurd said, "Alright, I want weapons drawn and pointed at that door, anybody else but me or her come out, you shoot". Hurd reached down into his belt and pulled a door popping device, moving over to the door and attaching it. Turning to look at the Commodore, Hurd said, "Permission to proceed?"

"Permission granted," Cyndi said as she looked at Will "You take one step forward I'll have you confined."

Amethyst could sense Will nearby, it was giving her hope that this would soon be over. “Look let me help you.” She looked at the man who was considering his next move. “You need off this station, so let me talk to the Captain and organise it.” Just then there was a noise from the doorway ...

Hurd hit the button and the doors flew apart. Before the man had time to react, he had him in a hold, and screamed at the Lieutenant, "Get out of here now!!!". Hurd took the man, and started ramming his head into the wall, buying time.

Amethyst did as she was told, she moved as quickly as she could out of the doors and over to her husband. "Will, am I glad to see you!!" She hugged him tightly not wanting to let go.


Cyndi pocketed her phaser and ran forward grabbing Hurd's arm "Captain let him go before you kill him. He needs to be questioned! NOW release him!"

Hurd dropped the man to the deck, saying, "Yes Ma'am prisoner on deck". Hurd started to turn, but felt somthing wet. Looking down, Hurd saw that his entire side and pants leg were saturated in blood. Looking at those around him, he said, "Guy stabbed me", right before falling face first to the floor.

Will grabbed his wife and got her to safety.

"Report to the ship and get her checked out. Doctor Long is aboard," Cyndi tapped her com-badge "Amandora this is the commodore, lock onto Captain Hurd's com-badge and transport him directly to sick bay notify Doctor Long she has incoming injured."
