With the staff meeting over Amethyst headed back to her office to get on with her work. As the doors opened she walked over to the replicator to get herself a drink.

The doors swished open then closed and then did it again.

Amethyst frowned, her door had been fine a few moments earlier. She turned to walk over and see what the problem might be, if necessary she’d have to call engineering to send someone to fix it.

The door opened and closed again.

" Counselor? " a whisper called out.

“Who’s there?” Amethyst stepped towards the door. She could sense a presence but she couldn’t tell who it was. “Show yourself or I’ll call security!”

The voice called again but this time from behind her as the echo bounced off the walls.

Amethyst spun around suddenly feeling very vulnerable, her hand raised towards her comm badge ready to call for help.

" Mommy help me." said a child’s voice but when she turned around a dark figure stood before her.

“Who ... who are you?” Amethyst looked around, her first instinct was to get away from the figure as fast as she could.

" IT'S ME MOMMY." the dark figure said as it grabbed Amethyst and injected her with a hypospray. Rendering her unconscious on the floor.

Voices entered the area but the person quickly exited before being seen.
