With everyone on alert school was sent home meaning Kal and Christina were home.

A knock at her door showed the arrival of now Assistant Chief of Station Security Kordell outside.

" Christina? It is Kordell I need to talk to you."

Christina smiled to Kal as she babysat Flora too. “It’s alright.” She looked to the door. “Come on in Kordell.”
As the door opened she offered a smile. “What can I do for you?”

" I need you to come with me for safety sake. The Counselor was attacked and you and the boy need to be placed in protective custody. " Kordell explained.

Christina looked towards the Moses basket, "I'll have to bring Flora as well." She stood to collect the bag she'd need with Flora's things in. "Is Amethyst alright?"

" She will be . The Intruder is targeting you Christina and the Raymond children. We need to leave now."

Christina nodded and ushered Kal along, picking up Flora she took Kal by his hand and looked at Kordell. “We’re ready, lead on Lieutenant.”

" Kordell to Starbase Mercury lock onto my signals and energize." Kordell said into his commbadge as he placed gps strips onto Christina and the children.

" You will be happier with me on the station," he added as the transporter beam enveloped all of them.

As they rematerialised on the station Christina looked at Kordell. “Do Amethyst and William know where we are? They’ll be worried about their children. I’d also like to speak to Captain Hurd.”

" Relax with the children. I will see to your every need. Computer activate Kordell Perimeters." the Klingon replied. " Captain Hurd will never get his hands on you again." he added clutching his neck as great drops of blood dripped from his neck. " It seems I have made it, mad."

Christina looked at Kordell in shock and surprise, stepping back she kept herself between Kordell and the children. “What’s going on? What do you mean angry?”

Kordell paused and then showed her his wound on his neck which burrowed and was covered by his black hair.

" It reacts to my emotions or I react to its. Either way you will be safe with me." said as he pulled out his Klingon dak'tagh hand weapon.

Christina was uncertain just how ‘safe’ she really was. “Kordell I need to speak to Commander Raymond, to let him know his children are safe. He and Amethyst will be worried about them.” She hoped she could at least get some time alone with the children to try and find a route of escape.

" NO! That is not how this ends. The children are not apart of this. All I want to do is love you. To be with you until .... we die." Kordell replied with pain in his voice.

Chrissy looked at Kordell worriedly ... until we die? I don’t have any plans to die Kordell.” She motioned to Kal to stay back with his little sister as she approached Kordell. “You don’t have to do this ... I’m sorry if I hurt you. It wasn’t my intention to dishonour you. We had one night together, I didn’t see you again so I thought you weren’t interested.” She hoped she would get through to him, but she was ever aware of his blade which was drawn and ready to use. “Please Kordell, you said we’d be safe with you.”

" You don't love me...you love Hurd. FINE you can die with him then." Hurd yelled as he grabbed Christina with one arm and pulled her closer to him.

“No Kordell ... please!” Chrissy looked towards Kal. “You can’t! Think of the children!!”

The inner workings of Kordells adrenal glands flared as the venom from the tick inceptively controlled his mind.

" I have been Betrayed!." Kordell yelled as he jabbed the dak'tagh into her side. Slumping her to the ground he ran out into the corridor. Kal left Flora and ran to Christina's side.

Christina clasped he hand over her side with a gasp, the dagger had gone deep and she was bleeding heavily. “Kal ... the comms ... call for ... help.”

Kal nodded. He was only young but he knew how to call for help.

~ Back aboard the USS Amandora ~

Amethyst was out of her mind with worry, she was pacing the room until a call came in for her. “Kal?!” She looked at her son’s face. “Where are you?”

“On the station mummy!!” He pointed behind him. “Christina’s hurt!! The Klingon man he hurt her!”

“Alright sweetheart, stay there! I’ll get you some help.” She hit her comm badge. “Commander! It’s Kordell ... he’s injured Christina! They’re on the station!!”

Will looked to John Dallas.

" We have to get over to that station, dammit."

" Yes sir follow me." Dallas realized.

< Starbase Mercury >

Kordell ran through the corridors wildly both in pain and also with intent anger. Anger at Christina and with Hurd for ruining his relationship and realization his career was over.

Confronted by the open turbo lift where Master Sergeant Dallas and Commander Raymond arrived.

" Stop Kordell it's over." Will yelled.

" NO... Never!"

Tired of seeing people in fear, Hurd sprang into action. He rushed Kordell, grabbing the hand holding the knife in a vice grips."Let her go Kordell" , he said as he struggled with the Klingon. "I'm the one you want Kordell, not her!!!"

" Too late she's dead Hurd. I left her lifeless carcass laying dead on the floor. " Kordell replied. " Better dead than to lose her to you." Kordell struggled as the blood from his neck matted his hair. Giving the resemblance perhaps Christina had wounded him in the neck.

" Let us fight to the death." Kordell yelled as he slammed Hurd into the wall.

Hurd didn't even reply. He smashed his fist straight into Kordell's face, feeling bones crunch as he did so. He then quickly grabbed him, spun him around, and slammed him face first into the bulkhead, leaving him dazed. Falling back a few steps, he taunted Kordell saying, "You are weak, you attack women and call yourself honorable and a warrior?" "You are nothing, and today, you will die my hand and spend enternity in Gre'Thor". He stopped talking and pulled his .45, aiming it at Kordell and waiting for his next move.

"I was her first." Kordell smiled as blood oozed. Taunting Hurd he raised his hand like a phaser." Let slip the dogs of war."

Hurd pulled the trigger first, in 6 rapid fire jerks, the booms echoing around the room.cauing everyone but him to shiver. He holstered his weapon and walked over to Kordell's now lifeless body, a pool of blood spreading from underneath it. Spitting on the corpse, Hurd turned and asked, "Who wants the body?"

In Kordells hand a childs pacifier dropped to the floor as he had used it to mimic having a hand phaser.

Will and Dallas arrived as the shots fired, witnessing Hurds actions.

" Master Sergeant escort the Captain back to the Amandora.
