Amethyst sat on the biobed gazing across at Christina who was sleeping peacefully, she couldn’t believe that Kordell had tried to kill her friend. Was he also the one that had attacked her? She was in a daydream when she heard a voice.

"So are you ready to get sprung from here?" Kristian asked "Sick bay is for sick people and your not sick."

“Ohh ... sorry doctor, I was daydreaming!” Amethyst offered a smile. “I still can’t believe that all this has happened.”

"He's the last person I'd have suspected. But he does know the ship," Kristian commented.

Amethyst nodded. “That’s true, but was Kordell the one who attacked me?” She looked at Kristian. “If he was why didn’t he kill me?”

"If it was Kordell who attacked you I can only assume he got scared off," Kristian said as she ran scans on Amethyst "But Christina is safe in here, he gets past security and tries anything I am armed. Not something I like to carry in sick bay. I know how to use a phaser my parents made sure of it. I don't want to take a life but I will if I have to."

Amethyst nodded.”How is Chrissy doing? I know I’m not family but she’s been with me since Kal was born, I needed help and she volunteered to become a full time nanny and teacher to Kal. She’s the closest thing I have to a sister.”

"She's going to be okay, I'm going to keep her here for a day or two before I release her," Kristian said "As are you, I'm going to release you, I want you to take it easy for a day or two.But there is no reason you can't return to active duty. I'll let the commodore know."

Amethyst nodded and smiled. “Thank you Kristian, I’m sorry I was so difficult before. I’m not normally an awkward patient.”

Kristian pulled up a stool and took a seat, "Your not that difficult, my uncle and aunt are difficult. I could tell you stories about them once I graduated from med school. But I'm not going to. Just suffice it to say you think your difficult multiply it by ten and you'll have them. My mum's aboard and she can tell you stories about her sister."

Amethyst smiled and nodded. “Trust me you wouldn’t want to meet my aunt! She’s a full blood Betazoid, totally eccentric and she’s not afraid to answer your questions before you’ve asked them! Plus she has no problem walking around naked!” She laughed. “She was looking forward to attending a naked ceremony for my wedding I’m just thankful I didn’t have to do that!!”

Kristian nodded "I can understand that. My parents were married on my home planet and from the pictures I've seen it was quite an affair. But then Royal weddings are always a big affair. And one I hope to avoid if at all possible."

“I’m just glad our wedding was a private affair, it was just how I wanted it.” She smiled warmly. “It feels good to Mrs Raymond. Before I forget when do you need to see Flora again now?”

"Bring her in next week," Kristian replied "She'll need some shots by then."

Amethyst nodded. “I will, Will she require anything different? She is part Brol and I’m not 100% certain exactly what that means where her genetics are required.”

"To be honest, I don't know. Most of her DNA is human/betazoid. Yes there is a small amount of Brol showing up. But I don't think it's enough to be overly concerned about. I'm going to take a blood sample and send it to science just to confirm everything but I do believe she'll be fine," Kristian said.

“Thank you, that puts my mind at rest.” Amethyst offered a warm smile.

"I'm glad,"Kristian said smiling back as she got to her feet "You’re free to go, unless you want to stick around?"

“No offence but no thank you!” Amethyst grinned. “I want to go home to my family.”

"Then go home to your family, I'm going to check on Christina, leave word with the nurse and then I'm going to have dinner with my mum," Kristian replied

“Say hi to Chrissy for me and pass on my best Wishes to her and your mother please?” Amethyst smiled warmly as she hopped down off the biobed ready to leave.

"I'll do that," Kristian said

“Thank you Doctor” Amethyst smiled.
