Will Raymond entered engineering and greeted Clinton and Humphreys.

" You two have been scarce. The Chief must be keeping you busy?" Will joked.

" Aye that he's a straw boss for sure," replied Horton.

Saunders had come back from updating an EPS coil drive that had failed for the third time that day. Damien paused, seeing the Commander down in Engineering. He stopped, giving a sharp-one-off salute. "Sir." He had smiled. "What can I do for you?"

" I came down to help out actually. I am a damn good pilot and pretty good engineer. How can I help Chief?" Will asked.

Damien had looked over at Eva and then to Clinton. "Captain," Saunders began. He had hoped he was not slipping on any reports, warranting any kind of concern from the Command Team.

"I appreciate, Sir. Help?" He had chuckled a moment, looking around. "Well, as you are an Engineer by nature." Damien recalled hearing that the young Commander did have great experience in Starfleet Engineering. He was a true asset. "I think I could use a few of your ideas on the retro-core quantum alignment matrix." He had laughed, relaxing now. "There seems to be an offsetting in degrees for the plasma gradient." He had gestured towards the Engineering Access Jeffries Tube. The attenuation unit was just a few feet inside.

" Chief the QCRD uses pressure fed rivulets minus 300000ths across at .001 degrees. I'm rusty but I think that's the matrix formula we need." Will replied.

Damien had a grin. "Yes, Commander. That would be the federation protocols. I was about to do that..." He scratched at the side of his noggin. Did the Commander have a photographic memory, because that was the formula, without looking up the data and operational specs.

Eva had come back with the engineering kits, and she handed them to both the Officers.

" Hi Eva."

"If I knew you were going to drop by, I'd have baked swiss rolls Commander." Humphreys blushed.

" I love swiss rolls," Will replied.

Damien inwardly grunted. He didn't want the Commander to think all they did was talk about food, and eat food down here. He however, chuckled.

" Well I have two hours. Put me to work Chief." Will asked.

Leading the way in to the Jeffries tube, Saunders had reached the attenuation unit is here. He had held a magnetic lock and code that shunted the panel door, horizontally sliding open. Inside was the isolinear processors, flashing and different algorithms obtaining lightspeed degrees of adjustments. "But, I'm pretty sure you knew that." He chuckled.

"Now, if you can hand me that J-RER 51, Sir?" Damien spoke in engineering for coded tools, just to see if he knew well.

" That's an engineering mind game thing isn't it. To catch the fly boy?" Will joked back.

"Hahaha." Saunders chuckled and let out a small snort. He couldn't help. "It's a test, but then again, you'd know that Sir. How to judge an Engineer you haven't met 101."

" Touched,"

Just then, a hustling was heard outside of the Jeffries tube. What had sounded like Clinton and Humphrey's near the outer hatch. "They're busy, your looking foolish.." Clinton could be heard.

"Out of my way, please!" Eva bossed Lieutenant JG Clinton aside.

"If your hungry later, Sirs. I have freshly baked scones with vanilla icing." She perked, sticking her head in through the small hatch.

" She is determined to make us all fat isn't she?" Will joked.

"Sir." Saunders shook his head. "I've had to watch myself. It's brutal what Eva brings in here." He laughed.

"So.." Saunders opened up his Engineering Tricorder. "There is an issue with the fed pressure sequence. .00076." He shook his head. "That was entered incorrectly." He grumbled. Saunders then reviewing his Padd with the calculation sequencing. "I'm altering the fed flow... and re-setting the adaptors." Damien then paused. "What was that you recited so expertly. Ah, minus 300000ths across at .001 degrees!" He winked cheekily.

" That is why your the Chief." Will replied. " As a pilot I flew them, broke them and shade tree fixed them so the engineers could bitch me out later."

"Bitching is a prerogative of our profession Sir." Saunders grinned. "So what class vessels have you piloted, Sir?" He was interested.

" Valkyrie, Sabre , Defiant class and of course Valiant and Galaxy class vessels. I was part of a fighting wing the 181st also." Will answered.

"That's impressive Sir. Perhaps sometime we could try out one of the speed shuttles, you could show me a thing or two?" He propositioned.

" DEAL. I actually teach the shuttle classes. I will put you on the next class." Will replied.

"Seriously?!" Saunders had a big grin form. This was something he would definitely look forward to. "I would be honored." He nodded heartily.

Damien not wanting to loose sight of his current work at hand, he then returned to the sub-component hardware. "So I think your fix has solved the main issue. We should return to the main and see how it is integrating with a level 4 diagnostic." He had followed through with the manual rules. "Sound good, Sir?"

" You're the man Chief. Lead the way buddy." Will replied. " I once had to replace three isolinear chips on the Washington and the chief engineer yelled at me for a week.

Saunders raised a brow. "Nah, no. Not here... That's, what an arse." He laughed, shaking his head as he had backed out of the Jeffries access tube, and entered back to the pool table.

"So, you were Commander on the Washington and /he/ chewed you out?" Damien had raised a brow.

"Who chewed who out?" Humphrey's had asked leaning inward over the other side of the pool table.

" I was an Lt Commander and he a full Commander. Wouldn't matter he was the Chief. His engine room. " Will replied.

"Well around here, the only thing we chew out is really just baked goods." Damien had shot a look to Humphrey's.

"A Commander as a Chief Engineer? That is odd." Humphrey's continued to talk. "I honestly think you couldn't get that far, Sir." She tried to trip up Saunders.

"Nice try, Humphreys. Keep that up, you won't see your replicator bio-sustenance refills in your quarters for two months!" He scoffed.

Will couldn't help but laugh. He knew Eva some and Clinton was a great engineer despite his old school personality.

"We like to josh each other around here if you can tell, Sir." He shrugged and chuckled back at Humphrey's and she chuckled as well. "So, I just ran a level 04 check, and the retro-core quantum alignments. It seems all are operating beyond capacity now." He looked at Commander Raymond. "Sir, you are free to come around here anytime with help like that!" He was impressed at the computers updated system's scoring.

" Thank you Chief. I actually was using this as your evaluation to the Commodore. But I will most definitely take you up on that. You have a great department. Amandora is blessed to have you sir." Will replied.

"Sir. Yes Sir." He had paused, and shook his head with a sly grin, he gestured with his hand outward. "That... That was very sneaky!" Damien in a way was happy that he didn't know.

" I may have you return the favor sometime Chief. If you need me I will be on the bridge." Will replied.

Saunders had given a respectful, one off sharp-salute. As he had watched the Commander return back to his bridge duties.

"I just wish I had brought in Cinnamon Buns today... I knew I should have." Humphrey's commented as he had left.
