Will tagged his team and met at the end of the table in the ready room for them to follow.

" If you were pinged by me I want you to meet me in the forward observation room please." he added to their text.

Tara and Kristian walked into the forward observation room and waited for the commander to arrive.

" Excellent you two came early. Lt Herculoid please prepare a science report of what we know about our guests. Doctor Long do you have any medical reports? When Lt Kahn arrives we will discuss all that we know jointly. " Will greeted as he moved to look out at the alien world.

"As soon as the probe is finished I'll have a report for you," Tara said

"I won't be able to give you any medical reports until the science chief's probe is back and we've had the chance to beam down," Kristian answered.

" Do we have any preevaluations of this planet? I would like to know what we are up against before we go where no man has gone before." Will asked

Tara shook her head "I'm not going to know anything commander until the probe gets back. You know sir with all due respect that I do,"

Will sighed as not knowing was not his best strength. Awaiting arrival from security he prepared his tactics for away team.

" We will beam down and assume a non aggressive posture. I grew up around cats and if they are similar to the ones I had they will be very alert to movement especially aggressiveness."

The doors opened and Kuroth Tor arrived.

" Ladies, Commander. I am very excited to be joining this mission. I am very happy to be meeting the Savai," Tor greeted.

Kelliza Kahn entered the chamber, going straight to the nearest chair available, and empty, sitting and giving her attention the rest. "Good day, folks. Did I miss anything?"

" Lieutenant we are prepping for our away mission. Science and medical are waiting on a probes telemetry. Myself and Mr Tor will be working on the first contact protocols. And you as Chief of Security will handle our safe arrival and departure. Phasers on stun and good luck should we need them." Will replied.

Liza gave a nod of acknowledgement. "Of course, Commander. Since this is, essentially, a first contact I say we keep the landing party as small as possible. Will we have a marine on this excursion?"

" No. Major Hurd will be utilized as needed. We hope they are genuine in wanting to join the Federation. Admiral Snow has concerns." Will replied.

"The probe should be back anytime now," Tara said.

Will observed the streaking stars behind him once more.

"Commander I just received early probe results," Tara spoke up "This planet has cracked plains of arid grasslands along an expansive coastline with mountainous cliff faces, with branching cave networks of swampy tunnels lying under the surface. Prides of big cats hunt across the steppes, while the tunnels and trenches below the grassy surface provide cover for humans and other prey species. has an arid climate, receiving only a few inches of naturally generated rainfall per year. Humans ration water carefully or produce it through magic, while much of Savai's wildlife relies on the movements of large monsters who bring weather systems with them. The canyons and tunnels of the cave systems extend for miles under the planet. Some tunnels terminate suddenly in massive drops, like the seemingly bottomless gorge. There os a stretch of road involves crossing many precarious stone bridges over many trenches. Like in any other triomes, crystals grow The same crystals that root deep enough to pierce the catacombs also soar high enough to change its weather."

" Excellent timing. Monster's cause weather? Crystals? I hope they are at least dilithium type crystals?" Will replied.

"If they are then the commodore can be the one to open negations for mining it," Tara answered "That's all the information I can give you."

"Make sure everyone takes water along too and I'll make sure my med kit has aqua-pills in it too," Kristian said.

" I will prepare us a shuttle with rations once I find out if we are transporting down or flying a shuttle. Does anyone else have anything to add?"

"I'm good," Kristian responded


" Okay, everyone dismissed until show time." Will commanded.
