Mission: Shake Down Cruise
Location: Amethyst and Kal’s Quarters

With Kal onboard and both of them settled into the family quarters that Cyndi had sorted for her, Amethyst was making sure her son was ready for dinner. She was expecting Will anytime and she was hoping he’d stay for a meal with them. She purposely hadn’t told Kal his father was here, she wanted it to be a surprise.

Will was tired from shake down testing but upon hearing of the shuttles arrival he could not wait to meet his son for the first time.

Amethyst could sense Will’s approach to the door, her senses were always alert to the comings and goings of people near her quarters. She quietly made her way to the door opening it before he could even press the chime. She put her finger to her lips to tell him to be quiet and she motioned for him to follow to her.

Will entered slowly awaiting the future.

“Kal...” Amethyst waited for their son to turn around, he knew who his father was and she wanted to see his reaction.

Turning around the five year old’s eyes met with those of his mother before transferring to the man at her side. For a moment he sat before suddenly running over and stopping in front of Will. “Are...you my daddy?”

" Kal? I am your father," Will replied with tears in his eyes.

A big smile and moments later Kal was wrapped around Will’s legs giving him a big cuddle.

A bear hug followed as Will lifted him and extended it to Amethyst.

" I have never been so happy in my life." Will said with more tears.

Amethyst joined the group hug wrapping her arms around them both. "This is all I ever wanted. To be a family." She smiled as she looked at Kal. "Why don't you show daddy your things while I get dinner. You will stay won't you Will?"

" Try to drag me away. What have you got son?" Will replied.

"Come and see my bedroom daddy!" Kal pointed towards the bedrooms.

"Wait until you see his collection of books, cars, toys and basically anything and everything starship and Starbase!" Amethyst called as she watched Kal leading his father away.

" Cars? He's my boy all right." Will smiled as he and Kal went off to play.

Later Will questioned the boy out and after dinner Will carried this little version of himself to his new bed. Joining Amethyst on the couch Will glared up into her empathic eyes.

" Can you read me?"

"You told me not to remember?" She grinned then let her mental shields down, feeling what he felt. She smiled as she looked into his eyes. "Stay with me tonight? I think Kal would love to wake up and find his daddy still here."

Will thought for a second about the last few days. He also pinched himself really before replying.

" This is real. My happily ever after like in a kids book. Two days after leaving the Washington I found this.." he said producing a unique ring.

" I bought it and have saved it in the odd chance you ever came back into my life. Imzadi, my beloved will you wear my ring?" Will replied.

Amethyst opened her mouth to speak before closing it again, giving Will a wide eyed look. “Are you....asking me to...marry you?!” She looked at the gorgeous ring he was holding. "Of course I will...Yes!!" She held out her hand for him to put the ring on before kissing him passionately.

" I want to do this right by you and Kal. When the shake down is complete I will ask the Captain to perform the ceremony," said Will.

Amethyst was completely gobsmacked, she hadn't expected to find Will here let alone be getting a marriage proposal. She gently took Will's hand and slowly lead him towards the bedroom.

Fades to gray.....
