To say she was disappointed in being removed from the away team was an understatement. The new junior science officer was going instead. Once her bridge shift was over Tara checked to see where Kristian was and finding the ACMO in her quarters gave Tara an idea after leaving the bridge Tara headed for the lab, picked up a few things and headed for Kristian’s quarters. Once there Tara palmed the door sensor and waited for her cousin to answer.

Kristian walked to the door and opened it, seeing her cousin smiled and stepped back to let her in, “What brings you here?” Kristian asked reverting to their native language “What’s in the box?”

Taking a seat Tara placed the box on the coffee table and removed the items she’s brought along “I’ve been pulled from the away team, my junior officer Lieutenant jg Kees is going in my place. What I need from you is to collect some samples for me,” Tara replied reverting to the Amazon language as well. “This is her first away mission and I’m not sure what kind of scans and such she’ll do.”

“Why are you being pulled?” Kristian asked

“Something about once your all on the surface of Savai the ship is going to leave and head for a location of a crippled ship that Major Hurd found and Commander Raymond feels I’ll be needed more for that than the away team for the planet,” Tara said “So I’d like for you to do some scans of the planet, soil, air, and whatever else you can, here’s my tri-coder.” Tara slid it over to her cousin along with several vials “I’d also like you to bring me back some samples of things as well. I’m not sure what Lieutenant Kees is going to collect, scan or anything else but one cannot have enough samples and scans.”

Kristian nodded “I’ll take care of it for you don’t worry.”

“Thank you,” Tara said

“Anything for my favorite cousin,” Kristian replied getting up and walking to the kitchen and returned a few minutes later with two glasses of Amazon Brandy and handed Tara one before resuming her seat.

“Favorite cousin, I happen to be your only cousin,” Tara teased “How is that brother of yours?”

“Raffie, what to do with him. He dosen’t know what he wants to do, he’s not sure if he’ll continue with the Amazon Military or what. He has promise of being one hell of a sniper according to Marlaina,” Kristian said

“Raffie has to choose his own path, he’ll do what he feels is right and if he wants to be a sniper then that’s his calling. Look at you, your mum is a marine and your dad a star ship captain. You chose medicine,” Tara said taking a sip of her drink. “I better go you have an away team to get ready for and I’ve got some reports to finish.”

“I’ll get your scans and samples done,” Kristian said getting to her feet

“Thanks cuz,” Tara said finishing her drink and getting to her feet as well.

“When I get back we’ll meet for dinner, I’ll cook,” Kristian replied

“Sounds good,” Tara commented heading out.
