Master Sergeant Dallas was not one for needing much help but his nerves and sleep were on their edge and thus he made his appointment to see the ships shrink.
" Am I too early Counselor?" Dallas asked as he saw Amethyst in the waiting area of two seats.
“Not at all Sergeant” Amethyst smiled warmly. “Let’s go into my office and get comfortable. If you’d like anything feel free to use the replicator.”
" No ma'am I'm good. I have been restless and over grumpy lately and need something to curb my anger." Dallas told her. Hopeful for a shot or a medicine and then leave.
Amethyst took her seat and gave Dallas a thoughtful glance. “Is there anything in particular that’s upset you?”
Dallas had to be careful in his answer given his role on the ship.
" Family problems...work stress."
Amethyst gave Dallas a considered glance. “Sergeant ... John, what you say here is strictly private, it stays between us so you can say what you like.”
" Ma'am I can't sleep thinking about this. I saw Major Hurd blow Lt Kordell away with his side arm. He put 6 shots into him." Dallas replied.
Amethyst nodded. “I have spoken with Major Hurd regards his actions but I’m afraid I can’t go into details. Have you spoken to anyone except myself about this?”
" No...well Commander Raymond was there too."
Amethyst nodded. “I take it you’re struggling to reconcile what you saw? To see someone killed like that must have been ... difficult.”
" MA'AM I am a trained soldier. Death happens but murder also happens and I believe Kordell was murdered because of jealousy. Kordell had feelings for the nurse Christina. The Major found out and took opportunity to remove the competition. The Stations own Chief Medical Officer ruled Kordell was under the influence of the tick thing. He didn't deserve to die without honor." Dallas replied angrily. " He wasn't even charged. General Long swept it under the rug and even promoted Hurd to Major."
Amethyst frowned at the mention of Christina. “You do know that Kordell stabbed and almost killed Christina? Even though it may have been under the influence of an outside force, he could have killed her. I cannot comment on the actions of the Major.”
Dallas paused. He didn't want to come to see Amethyst but hoped he would get the help he needed to get past his anxiety. A chirp on his comm badge paused him. Answering it he stood up.
" I see. Counselor I have just received word of some trouble with my marines. If you'll excuse me." Dallas said leaving the office.
Amethyst sighed and followed him. “Sergeant wait!” She soon caught him up. “Can I help?”
" No ma'am you are part of the problem, or system or what ever runs a cover up. I'll handle this problem myself Counselor." Dallas reacted.
Amethyst stopped walking, that comment hurt but she said nothing further. “Very well.” With that she turned to head back to her office.
With stacked emotions Dallas did all that he knew to do and that was to rush to his marines situation and tell.
