Saunders had finished speaking to Commodore Song in regards to the Iwa Jima Mission, and the fact that the ship was missing with Marine's onboard. After hearing this, Saunders was more than willing to help do all he could.
The most important was speaking with the Major himself, and see exactly what the Engineers would be walking in too, and what they would be doing.
Exiting on Deck 03, Saunders made his way to Major Hurds Office. Tagging the door chime, he had heard from within the familiar call to come in.
Entering the Major's Office, Damien had walked in and gave the Major a one-off sharp salute in respect. "Major, Sir. Good to see you. I'm in from Engineering to check in on what we can do for the Iwa Jima. I heard there was Marines in need, and that is a high priority for Engineering to help you with, Sir." Damien spoke.
"At ease", Hurd said, pointing to a chair for fot him to sit. Clearing his throat, he started by saying, "The Iwo Jima is a dead ship, and very badly damaged". "Their is no power aboard, she has several Hull Breeches, and that's just what can been seen from outside." Looking at the Man, Hurd said, "I hear you are very good at what you do, so I'm open to suggestions".
“Well. If I could see some recon data on the Iwa Jima, to be able to understand the level of breaches were dealing with… There could be a multitude of issues. Suffice to say…” He frowned. “We may need to be using EVA suits. But you probably already have that planned, Sir.”
"I'm wearing my Helldiver Anmour over", Hurd said
“As well. I was speaking with the Commodore. Apparently, there may be traps set? Can you tell me a bit more about these Major?”
"Old explosives, trop wire that sort of thing, which is why I must make it to her Bridge to disarm them".
"So what do you want Engineering to do? What are we walking in to Major?" Damien asked bluntly.
"You are walking into a tomb, one with dangerous things in it", he replied. "What I need from you is containment of Hull Breeches, to see if Main Power can be brought online, an overall assessment of the ship itself, and your very blunt opinion on if we can rig her for towing or if we should put the old girl to rest ourselves".
"Of course. We will certainly be ready, then Sir." Saunders nodded. He had pulled up the records of the Iwa Jima deck plans. There would be no telling until he had reached the ship itself.
