With a few minutes of spare time on her hands Christina had headed to the school. She wanted to check in with those who’d stepped in to help during her absence. Opening the door she smiled as she was greeted by the faces of the few children currently aboard ship, as well as Amethyst.

“Hey! Welcome back!” Amethyst smiled warmly. “I was just helping out while I’ve got spare time.”

“I appreciate everything everyone has done for me in my absence” Christina smiled warmly. “I plan on being back here full time from tomorrow, for today I’m just visiting.”

“You don’t need to rush” Amethyst smiled. “The other mother’s have been doing an admirable job in your absence, I’ve popped in from time to time as well to help out.”

Kal was busy finshing off a drawing, picking it up he walked over to where his mother and Christina were talking. “This is for you” he handed the drawing to Christina.

Chrissy smiled warmly as she looked at the drawing, even at his young age Kal had a talent for drawing. “This is gorgeous Kal thank you very much!”

Kal grinned as he looked towards his mother before returning to his seat and starting a new drawing.

“He’s a very talented young man Amethyst, I can see Kal being quite the artist when he gets older.” Chrissy smiled.

“Something he doesn’t get from me!” Amethyst grinned. “I’m hopeless at drawing. Perhaps he follows after Will in that respect if memory serves he’s pretty good at drawing.”

“Some children just have a natural affinity for things” Chrissy smiled. “It seems young Flora has quite the knack with flowers and plants, even at her tender age plants seem to react to her mere presence.”

Amethyst nodded. “I’ve noticed, part of her Brol heritage and it’s not just Flora. It seems my neural pathways are flourishing too, My abilities are getting stronger I just don’t know how much stronger they’re going to get.”

“I take it you’ve talked to Will about this?” Christina looked at Amethyst curiously.

“I will when he gets back, he’s off ship at the moment with the away team.”

Christina nodded. “Make sure you do. Secrets only lead to problems.

Amethyst nodded as she stood ready to leave. “I’m afraid I’m going to have to get going, I have a counselling appointment shortly. I promise I’ll talk to Will as soon as we get some time alone.”

Chrissy nodded and smiled at her friend. “Anytime you need an ear or a shoulder you know where to find me.”

Amethyst gave her friend a hug. “Likewise, and Congratulations! I hear you’re expecting.”

Chrissy grinned. “Thank you, and yes I am. I’m not sure whether to be nervous or terrified.”

“Neither” Amethyst grinned. “Just enjoy it.” With that she headed on her way.

Watching her friend go Chrissy smiled to herself before turning back to see what her students were doing,
