Post Number 79 An Interesting Find

To say she’s been bored was an understatement. Kristian had a job to do and while Tara knew her cousin was concerned about her. After a good night sleep Tara ate a quick breakfast, and headed for the science department. She was curious to see what Heather thought of the items and the data that had come back with her from the planet. Tara as also interested to see what kind of data and samples that Kees had collected.

Walking into the science department a few minutes later Tara collected several PADD’s that were handed to her. Thanking her officers she headed for her office, setting down at her desk she sorted through the reports. Some of the data from the planet Heather had gone over and it looked promising. Heather was a good scientist and after reading her report Tara wondered why she’d never gone for her PhD. She was more than qualified for it. After jotting down some notes Tara opened her field kit and removed two of the crystal shards, one red and one clear. Breaking off pieced of both she got up from her desk she walked into the lab and over to the bench where her polarizing microscope was at. While not one she used a lot it was one needed for this project. Opening a PADD Tara set to work studying the crystal fragments. Placing the red fragment under the microscope Tara couldn’t believe what she was seeing. Grabbing the stylus and jotting down her finding, she placed the red frafment into a container and placed the clear fragment under the microscope. Her hunch on the clear ones were right but the red ones were far different.

Packing up the fragments Tara headed to her office and took a seat at her desk. Picking up both shards she leaned back in her chair and studied both of them. Sending James a message that she’d found something interesting regarding the fragments she’d brought back from Savai and wondered if Heather had found anything of interest as well. Putting the shards away Tara set to work on her report making sure to keep it in Federation Standard. When her report was finished Tara sent it off to James,
