Mission:
Planet Savai
Location: Tara's Office
Timeline: Current

With the away team back on the ship Tara was understandably curious as to what Ellie had found out on Savai. They'd not had time to do a lot of exploring. Tara had originally not been included on the away mission and had only been involved because the commodore needed her to handle communications. Tara had found some very interesting things when she'd gotten to the planet and wanted to see if Ellie had discovered the same things she had. Tapping her com-badge "Lieutenant Kees this is Lieutenant Herculoid can you report to my office. I'd like to discuss a few things with you."
Ellie was in the Archaeology lab when Tara’s voice came over the comms, she tapped her comm badge “I’m on my way Lieutenant.” It didn’t take long to get from the lab to Tara’s office, she pressed the chime and waited.
"Come in," Tara called out,
Walking into the lab Ellie offered a warm smile. “You wanted to see me?”
Tara nodded "I did, please have a seat. Did you manage to collect any samples, take any readings on things such as soil samples, fossils, plants, animals before I got there and we headed off to the old city or did you remain safe at the area I met you and the rest of the away team when I landed?"
Ellie took a seat. “I managed to get plenty of readings, and some samples from the around the local area too. I thought I’d best have something to bring back to the ship with me.”
"That's good to know as I'm not seeing anything, you had me bring back what samples you'd collected. What is your take on the fossils? Did you scan them? What about Kodos? You two seemed in love. What will you do when he wants to return to his home planet? I know he's aboard now. Did you get any samples on the crystals both clear and the red ones, I came up with some very interesting readings on them?" Tara asked
Ellie sat back trying to take in all the questions so she could give full answers. “The fossils we scanned and collected all seem to be from various cultures, a lot of them not even native to the planet. As for Kodos...” she smiled warmly as she thought of him. “We are involved, he plans on remaining onboard as a representative of his people. As for the crystals, I have a few small crystal samples in the Archaeology lab that you can have.”
"I am anxious to see the fossils and the scans you did on them. How old do you think they are?" Tara asked "As for your boyfriend him remaining aboard is up to the commodore and to him. He may or may not want to stay. I did hear the commodore call for the commander and the ambassador to meet her in her quarters. Traditionally ambassadors don't stay they are a liaison between us and them. I know I speak from personal experience. I'm a liaison between my people and the Romulan Star Empire," Tara said
Ellie nodded. “To be honest I never expected to find love, it just kind of... happened.” She smiled. “I guess I’ll have to wait and see what happens with Kodos. As for the crystals I haven’t had chance to fully study them as yet, I’m guessing they’re going to be at least a few hundred if not thousands of years old.”
"Are you sure it's love with Kudos as you weren't on the planet that long a week or two at the most," Tara said "As for the crystals I found something interesting in the red ones. What have you found? I found mine under a special microscope. Something that you'd not ever imagine especially after one of them decided to poke me and let me tell you that hurt."
“From what I know of the ruins on the planet, they’re from multiple cultures over different time periods. The crystals have been there for millennia, it’s not surprising you’ve found something of interest. As for Kodos, it sounds strange but, yes I’m sure!”
"That's what I discovered and when I saw Kristian's scans I agreed. The crystals what did you find out about them before I tell you what I found," Tara said "As for falling for Kodos so fast your lucky, I've not had much luck in the romance department,"
“The Crystals... they’re an oddity, they appear to refract light in perculiar ways. I could have sworn I saw my own face appear in one, which makes me wonder...” Ellie paused. “It sounds odd but I think they might be alive, in a way.”
"I never saw my reflection, but the light refracting is incredible. And yes according to what found the red crystals are alive. I'm going to send a report to McTavish and to the commodore. When the crystals turn white they're dead. They are dilithum, although I've never seen red ones," Tara said.
“So the white ones are dead?” Ellie nodded. “I hope bringing those red ones here doesn’t kill them.”
"They won't" Tara said "So relax your fine."
