Mission: Planet Savai
Location: Cyndi's Quarters
Timeline: Concurrent

ON:

Cyndi after learning the shuttle had safely landed and had brought a guest along. Tapping her com-badge "Commander Raymond this is Song, please bring your guest and report to my quarters we have somethings to discuss."

Will escorted Kodos of Savai to the Commodores quarters as per ordered.

" Commodore allow me to introduce Kodos from Savai. He wishes to make a formal appeal on behalf of his government to be considered for application to join the Federation." said Will.

Kodos bowed.

" I truly appeal to you Commodore. The Viceroy has explained to me that our race is on the eve of slavery if the Corjii are allowed to claim our world. They will also enslave the Furs, the rightful sentients of our planet." said Kodos.

"Please have seats both of you," Cyndi said "Ambassador I wish I'd have had advanced knowledge that you were coming as I'd have had guest quarters readied for you. Please accept my apologies. I've also only read some of the reports sent by my assistant science chief. She did explain something about an ancient city that no one goes to. But no mention of pending slavery which the Federation does not condone."

" I am...the honored one. Savai is my home and also to numerous species. The Furs are an indigenous people who also will benefit from your Federations protection. I just learned that our history of slavery to the Corjii . The old city is their old post on our world. We killed our captors but now they have returned to reclaim us and Savai." Kodos told Cyndi.

"The reports from my assistant science chief whom I believe you met and Lieutenant Kees reported the old city is from many different cultures. I only wish Lieutenant Herculoid had not been injured requiring her to be brought back to the ship," Cyndi commented "I can't return to your planet until the marines are done with the ship you saw when you arrived. What is it you'd like the Federation to do? If you protect us the Corjii dare not try to enslave us again."

"Ambassador, commander how do you wish the Federation to protect you? I can't leave a ship there. What your asking is for us to leave security personal there," Cyndi said "We can train your people to defend themselves against the Corjii. I can arrange to have ships stop by and check on you and set up trade routes."

" I explained to The Viceroy that one option is a Starbase . That worked on Bajor," Will added.

"It did," Cyndi agreed "But that is something I can't do without contacting Starfleet Command and they'll want a valid reason for building one there not to mention if they approve it, it could take several years to get one built and staffed."

" Actually...a base like Starbase Mercury could be moved to orbit Savai. It would involve an engineering miracle and two starships but a subspace vacuole could be artificially placed around it and it could be safely warped to that sector. I know because Space 218 was moved that very way. " Will added.

"That still require permission and approval from Starfleet Command and two to three more ships. The base will need to be shut down and totally evacuated, it cannot be moved staffed or operational," Cyndi replied "I'm not even sure due to the size of the base if two ships can tow it."

" There is science to back up the theory. We went to these people and evaluated them. They now have a problem we might be able to help them with. It deserves consideration Commodore," Will added.

"It does and I'll speak to Admiral Snow and see what he thinks. Then I'll need to look over the schematics of the Mercury and see if two ships can tractor it that far. It;s a long way from the system it's currently in to Savai. I don't know if a tractor beam can tow it that long and that far. There is a lot to consider here," Cyndi said "Either way ambassador we will help you and I'll petition the Federation about your world joining?

" The vacuole links to a static warp bubble in which two warp drive vessels become one and are able to move such items. Asteroids and even small moons have been moved using this procedure. Sort of like a freight train where they have engines in the front and back to move large cargoes." Will added.

"Let me talk to Starfleet Command," Cyndi said "Ambassador if I get permission to move the starbase to your planet what other qualities is there in your solar system that will interest my superiors? I may command this ship but I answer to someone."

" We have two moons. And there is always the Old City to explore ." Kodos replied. " Our entire faith was a lie based upon our rebellion from the Corjii."

"Ambassador I'm going to need a little more information before I request moving the star base. I did see the moons when I assumed orbit, but there is no information on them or any other planet in your system," Cyndi commented .

Will walked over to the desk

" Commodore he was raised to believe in a false faith system. His people were told a myth to protect them from the stigma of being slaves. I am not sure he can help us much. " Will replied.

Then Kodos stood up.

" Our people will not fight the Corjii without the help of the Federation." Kodos told Song

" Mr Tor refused to leave Savai. He wanted to help transition the Viceroy to Federation law. Tor can take the shuttle back to us you order it." Will added .

" What I can do is speak to my superiors and bring them up to speed on what I've been told. But there is not enough of a reason to move the star base," Cyndi said "Ambassador has anyone thought of speaking to the Corjii and seeing if there can be something worked out? This is a matter for diplomats."

" Commodore perhaps taking Kodos to the Federation is the best bet. We could have a pilot take him to the Admiral of Starbase Mercury and let him present his case?" Will suggested.

"That's the best idea yet as I can't leave with us ready to board the Iwo Jima. I don't know if Admiral Snow is there or not. I'll send a message to him and see where he is," Cyndi replied "In the meantime I'll have guest quarters ready for you. When you leave to go to the Mercury will Lieutenant Kees leave with you? I know you two are in love ambassador."

" I'll show the Ambassador to those quarters, Commodore. " Will volunteered.

"Sounds good and I'll contact the admiral and see where he is. He could be on Earth too," Cyndi said

Exiting her quarters Will walked Kodos to the lift and entered.

" She does not want to help us does she?" Kodos asked.

" This is a larger situation than you know. Our highest rule is a Prime Directive to not interfere with alien cultures.." Will replied.

" Even if we ask you to help?' Kodos added.

" Diplomacy and Political Correctness is the ruin of all society Kodos, even in our Federation. I have some friends on Starbase 400 and will see if I can get you some help too." Will promised.
