Mission: Character Development and A Mystery
Location: Quarters
Timeline: 3.5 wks after start of shoreleave.

{ON}

Having spent three and a half happy weeks on Earth enjoying a family holiday, Amethyst now sat on the sofa in their quarters back aboard ship watching her two children happily together. Kal happily looking after his little sister. She hadn’t said a word to anyone since arriving back in their quarters, she simply sat in stunned silence.

Having visited Starfleet medical on Earth after feeling off colour she and Will had been given news she wasn’t expecting. Not that she wasn’t happy, it was just unplanned. She looked towards Will, “Are you sure you’re alright with this? Admitting there’s not much we can do about it now!” She smiled. “We didn’t plan another baby, and here I am... pregnant!”

" I am elated and blown away. You must be the most fertile woman in the Galaxy," Will replied.

Amethyst shrugged her shoulders, “If it wasn’t for my rapid pregnancy with Flora while I was part Brol I’d disagree, but who knows! Maybe some of Brol’s influence is still remaining.”

" Did they scan for that factor in your blood?" Will figured.

“I have no idea” Amethyst shrugged her shoulders. “I have the results of the pregnancy test and the bloods they took for Kristian. I haven’t looked at them because they said everything was fine.”

" I guess we will have to ask for bigger quarters then. Maybe we should get a post back on Betazed?" Will teased.

“No chance!” Amethyst smiled but she couldn’t help but feel troubled, if what Yova told her was true then the timing would be right for the child she was carrying to possibly be his. What would Will say, or do, if her baby wasn’t his?”

" What's wrong you spaced out?" Will asked.

"I did?" Amethyst offered an apologetic look. "Sorry I was just wondering how we're going to cope with three children!" She daren't say what was truly on her mind.

" I know one thing I am going to start using prescribed protection " Will joked.

"Actually maybe we both should!" Amethyst grinned. "Three children is enough for me, unless you're planning a big family?"

" I was content with one of each. But I must have really missed you. "

Amethyst grinned. “I most definitely missed you!” She motioned for Will to cuddle up.

" Well nuzzle over here and let Willy hold you." Will motioned.

“Willy huh?” Amethyst grinned playfully as she moved over for hugs and cuddles.

" Now you rest and I'll hold you while I check my itinerary." Will said as she rested.

Will was about to log in when suddenly Amethyst had a pop up from the lab. Looking down will took a second look look as the dna’s did not look right as one read Betazoid and the other Bajoran.

Amethyst was just dropping off as sensed a change in her husband’s emotions, “Will? Is there something wrong?”

" Well, I don't know. Either the blood work was tainted or you have some explaining to do. I was logging in and found this had popped up. The father is Bajoran? I ain't Bajoran Amethyst."

“What!!” Amethyst shot up and rushed over to look at the screen. Her heart sank as she looked at the readouts. “Yova was telling the truth...” She looked at Will wide eyed suddenly realising what she’d said in front of him.

" Lt Yova? You and he? When I was away? Damnit Amethyst why?" Will jumped up and grabbed his running clothes and headed for the door as he slid them on. " I will kill that son of a bitch."

“Will wait!!” Amethyst leapt up and gently grabbed his arm. “You don’t understand, I didn’t! I wouldn’t!!” She shook her head tears running down her cheeks. “I don’t understand this! Yova said we’d been together but I don’t remember it!! I love you!!”

Will paused as a tear rolled down his cheek.

"Did he rape you or was it consensual?" Will then asked. "Your answer will save his life."

“I...” Amethyst shook her head. “I don’t know! I truly don’t know!!”

" We need to return to sickbay and clear this up one way or another " Will demanded.

Amethyst nodded in agreement. “If that’s what you want me to do, I’ll do it.”

Will was angry but he did pause.

" I didn't mean to abort the child. I need to confirm if I am the father." Will replied.

“I wasn’t talking about aborting the baby, I mean I’ll go to Sickbay for tests.” Amethyst gave her husband a concerned look. “Will ... I swear I wouldn’t betray you!”

Amethyst could feel Will’s emotions as betrayal littered his mind and heart. Images of his Imzadi with that skirt chasing Yova angered him greatly.

Getting up off the sofa Amethyst walked over by her husband ready to head to Sickbay, she made no attempt to make any excuses. She wanted answers as much as her husband did.

Walking out the door and down the corridor Will said nothing as they neared the turbo lift.

" Sickbay STAT." Will yelled.

Having found someone to babysit at the last moment, Amethyst stepped out of the turbolift cringing at the sound of her husband’s voice as he yelled at the turbolift, only time was going to tell what would happen now.
