Amethyst stepped out onto the solid ground of Earth, it felt good to be breathing fresh air and be on solid ground instead of walking deck plates. She smiled as she saw the enthusiastic look on Kal’s face as she looked down at sleeping Flora. “So my dear husband, where are we heading to?”

" This area was founded by my people the Raymond's. There is a cabin I used to play in when I was a boy at this park. I want to go there today." Will replied.

Amethyst smiled and nodded. “Then let’s go! I want to hear about your family, and everything you haven’t already told me about.”

" Not much to tell. Farmers, whiskey brewers, black smiths and somehow a Star Fleet officers came from that." Will replied as he led them to the hover craft.

" Off to the Cove.' Will yelled.

“This is fun mummy!” Kal grinned as he looked at his mother.

“It is indeed” Amethyst grinned as she looked at Will. This family holiday had been a long time coming.

< The Cove / Earth >

Hundreds of years of traditions and legends filled the cove they now walked on as it was no longer for automated vehicles. Steeped in old churches and superstitious ways the cove still had it's allures.

“What a beautiful place” Amethyst smiled as she looked around, “I could get used to being here.”

" Really...they have a lot for sale? I have been thinking about rearranging my career. I love being XO mind you but some parts of me are getting in daddy mode. On top of ole Smokey they do hang gliding and zip lines? Are you interested ? " Will teased.

“Are you kidding!?” Amethyst shook her head. “No chance, I’m not that keen on zip lines or anything involving heights.”

" Imzadi? Where is that youthful excitement from the Washington? You EVA'd once just to read an unconscious pilot. By the way my ole pal Midnight has taken a posting on the Amandora. He is a Chief Warrant Officer now. Plans to take the Marine Officers Exam." Will replied.

“That’s great!” Amethyst smiled. “I guess I’ve become a little less exciting since I’ve become a wife and mother. I guess I need to find that youthful exuberance again.”

" We both have. The universe is weird like that I guess. I have an idea that will work. A few miles from here is a lake. Let's take a boat and ride up and down the lake for a few hours?" Will replied.

Amethyst nodded. “Sure, that sounds like fun.” She smiled at Kal, “You young man, can help your father choose the boat.”

Varying in size Kal picked a larger green boat with oars.
"Boy you want Daddy to work." Will joked not telling Kal it had an electric rudder and fan.

" Natives called this area Tsiya'hi” or “Otter Place hundreds of years ago. This lake is man made though.' Will stated.

“Well it’s still beautiful.” Amethyst smiled warmly. “I’m sure this is going to be one of the best holidays we’ve ever had.”
