Everyone had been chatting all the way to Inverness, Scotland. Soon they arrived and pulled into the driveway of James' parent's house then James and Heather gathered their duffles and started towards the house with Heather's parents following close behind.

James opened the door and stuck his head in “Hello....anybody home...it's James” then all he heard was squeal as Eileen ran out into the foyer and threw her arms round both of them; giving each a hug and a kiss.

“It's so nice to see you guys...we've missed you so much” Eileen commented. Before James could say a word William came out and gave Heather a big hug and James a sturdy handshake.

“Mum, Dad we're happy to see you too. By the way where is that little pain-in-ass brother of mine” James said with a chuckle.

“James...you shouldn't talk about your brother like that...all he ever wanted was to be successful like his big brother. To answer your question he's in Paris, France working as an executive in a financial firm; he has a girlfriend and a place there.” Eileen explained.

Now James kinda felt bad talking about his brother like that “Wow...that's impressive....tell the Squirt when you see him I said I'm proud of him” James replied.

“I will” Eileen said “It'll mean a lot to him coming from you.” So everyone, including Heather's parents, went into the living room and said the remainder of their hellos, then sat and chatted for awhile. Shortly after Heather's parents said their good-byes to everyone and headed back to Ireland.

When suppertime rolled around Eileen had made James' favorite; homemade Lamb Stew with homemade biscuits. As they were talking at supper William just had to ask “So kids how's life on the Dunkirk these days.”

James looked at his Dad with a grin” Couldn't tell you...we're not on the Dunkirk anymore....I received a promotion to Chief Science Officer and Heather followed along and is the Biology Head; we're on the USS Amandora. We've been there for a few months now” he concluded.

William had a surprised look “Well congratulations to you both; looks like your brother John isn't the only one advancing in their careers. Well done and good luck to you both.”

They both thanked William and continued talking through the rest of supper. Afterwards they adjourned to the living room and spent the rest of the evening talking and laughing.

When it was getting late James and Heather excused themselves and went into their bedroom and got ready for bed. Then Heather turned to James “I really enjoyed seeing your parents again; they look really good for their age.” “Yes they do” he replied. So they went off to sleep knowing that tomorrow they would be returning to the Ship.

The next morning James and Heather each showered, dressed and packed up their stuff then headed out into the Kitchen for breakfast. They were greeted with hot coffee, waffles, syrup, and thick cut bacon. When they had eaten enough to bust Eileen brought out homemade doughnuts which were made to perfection.

James grabbed a doughnut then looked at his Mum “You know you're going to make me fat” he said with a chuckle.

“You look like you could use a little more meat on your bones” Eileen replied.

“No that just means I'll have to exercise more when I get back on the Ship” James said with a grin. So everyone sat at the kitchen table chatting until James heard their Shuttle approaching.

Turning to Heather “Sounds like our rides here” James said “Mum, Dad looks like we'll being going soon. Thanks for having us on such short notice, it was really great to see you both and please tell John I'll be thinking of him” James said. Then Eileen and William gave them both a hug and wished them well.

When the Shuttle touched down, James and Heather made their way out and boarded. James could see his parents waving good-bye as the Shuttle lifted off heading back to the Amandora.

“Thank you James, that was very nice seeing Mum and Dad again, as well as Eileen and William; but it'll be nice to get back home” Heather said.

James agreed and the couple sat resting, waiting to arrive back on the Amandora; looking forward to a few days together before resuming work.
