Suvak needed more medication for her condition and
arrived to sick bay just as Amethyst was exiting. Seeing the tears in her eyes she tried to avoid Amethyst but found herself injecting into the issue.

" Counselor what is wrong?" Suvak asked.

Amethyst paused, offering Suvak a teary eyed glance. “It seems that I’m... pregnant” she had no idea why she was confiding in Suvak, but she did anyway.

" Pregnant? But why are you upset. Is that not good news?" Suvak replied unaware.

“No it isn’t!” Amethyst shook her head. “Because the baby isn’t my husband’s!”

Suvak was stunned.

" Was it a planned coitace?"

Amethyst shook her head. “I wouldn’t betray my husband, yet I did.” She sighed. “Now I have to live with the consequences.”

" I aided you Counselor. You were the victim of a mind melding. All of this is my fault as I was under the Pon'Farr. I know you are hesitant but if we were to meld again I could help you sort this all out? " Suvak offered.

“No...” Amethyst shook her head. “I don’t want to remember what I did, it’s done and that’s all there is to it.”

" Knowing the truth will help you heal." Suvak replied.

Amethyst paused for a moment before nodding. “Alright.”

Suvak removed them both to the next door into the Counselors office. It was quiet there and they would not be disturbed.

Beginning the usual ritual of the mind meld Suvak slowly unfolded Amethyst mental defenses and found the sealed area of her mind she had secured.

The trigger word remember was all that was needed as a flush of memories poured out beginning in this very room when Suvak had under duress merged their two minds in order for Suvak not to act out on the Pon Farr .

" Free your mind of this burden...it is no longer yours." Suvak whispered. " The child is still of you Amethyst. Embrace the life force it possesses and live long and prosper.

Tears ran down Amethyst’s cheeks as she recalled everything that had happened, it answered so many questions for her. “Thank you Suvak.”

" And now I must inform the Doctor of my indiscretions in this issue and accept my own fate." Suvak replied . " The child was conceived because of me. If you wish it I will happily raise the child as my own Counselor."

Amethyst looked at Suvak in surprise. “You ... want to take my baby as your own?”

" It should have never happened . But I would do this for you " Suvak replied
