Posted on Mon Jul 26th, 2021 @ 8:43pm by Rear Admiral Paul Sanderson & Lieutenant T’Mia Rahl

Mission: Mission Guardian Shield
Location: Observation deck
Timeline: Current

ON:

With Cyndi tied up with command duties Paul had grown tired of being in their quarters and had decided on getting more used to his wife's ship. Seeing the observation deck Paul stepped onto it and watched as the ship sped toward her destination. A sight he never tired of. Being re-tired Paul was not in uniform even though he did have one aboard just in case.

T’Mia was out for a walk herself, getting to know her new home. She always loved the view from the observation deck, making her way there she wasn’t expecting company but made polite conversation as she walked up alongside the man already there. “It’s a beautiful view isn’t it?”

Paul turned to see who had spoken to him and nodded "It never gets old. I love being out in space and not cooped up on a planet. I'm Paul," he said choosing not to say his last name as some might know he was the commodore's husband and Paul wanted to get a feel of Cyndi's officers and crew.

“T’Mia” She smiled warmly. “T’Mia Rahl, I’m the new Chief Counselor. I’m just getting a feel for my new home.”

"How Long have you been aboard?" Paul asked nodding to some chairs, "Would you like to have a seat? There's no bad view up here.

T’Mia nodded and smiled, “That would be lovely” Walking over to the seats she sat down. “I only recently came aboard, the previous ship’s Counselor departed unexpectedly. I was available so I took the opportunity while it was there. You?”

Paul took a seat across from her "I was staying on a distant planet with family but got tired of not being out in space so here I am. I left Starfleet several years ago. Do I miss it? Sometimes but not always. I still do some things for them from time to time."

T’Mia nodded. “My father is an Admiral in Starfleet, and my mother is a Counselor aboard his ship hence my career choices!” She grinned. My father is Vulcan and my mother is Betazoid. Adds a different factor to my abilities, I’m empathic as well as a touch and line of sight telepath.”

"Your mother is aboard? Who would that be?" Paul asked "I see you've taken after your Betazoid half as most Vulcan's I know even half tend to take after the Vulcan side and not show emotion. Your one of the few I've met who does not take after the Vulcan side."

“I prefer to keep my emotions, which my father doesn’t appreciate very much” T’Mia smiled. “As for my mother she doesn’t serve aboard the Amandora, she’s aboard my father’s ship. Sorry if I confused you.”

Paul chuckled "It doesn't take much at times to confuse me. I have far too much time on my hands and I need to speak to the commodore and see if there's something I can do."

“I’m sure she’ll be only too glad to help you” T’Mia smiled. “Feel free to drop in for a chat anytime, my door is always open.”

"I'm not a member of the crew," Paul said "Unless I forgot regulations you need to be a member of the crew or assigned to this ship. I'm neither, I just joined my wife,"

“You’re right there” T’Mia nodded. “There are however civilian roles available aboard Starships. From Psychologists to teachers, bar tenders, chefs, there’s all sorts of roles.”

"Trust me lieutenant you don't want to have me cook. Why do you think I got my wife to finally marry me. I'm a horrible cook just ask her," Paul commented

T’Mia grinned. “May I ask who your wife is? I’m just wondering if she’s someone I’ve met.”

Paul grinned "Oh I'm sure you've met her. If not I'll gladly introduce you to her."

“Are you going to give me any clues?” T’Mia grinned as she looked at Paul.

"She's the most beautiful lady I ever met," Paul said "It took me a long time to convince her to marry me."

T’Mia smiled, it was obvious he was purposely avoiding telling her who his wife was. “True love then.”

Paul nodded, "She didn't see it at first but I did. The first time I saw her I told her I was going to marry her. Our son looks just like her."

“I wish I had someone like you” T’Mia smiled. “I guess I haven’t found my Mr Right as yet.”

"You will, he'll show up when you least expect it. Just don't put too high standards for what you want in a man. Be open and if he asks you to move to his planet and you really love him then go. My wife told me who she was and what marrying her would be like and I still married her. I have no regrets," Paul replied

T’Mia nodded. “I’ll heed that advice, thank you. So... just who is this lucky lady of yours?”

"Can I trust you not to tell anyone until we decide to let everyone know?" Paul asked

“Consider it our secret” T’Mia grinned. “At least I’ll know who it is I’m talking about.”

"I'm Paul Sanderson, my wife is Commodore Song. Ever hear of her?"

T’Mia looked at Sanderson in surprise, the Commodore! So that makes you... Admiral Sanderson!” She instantly sat more upright her entire posture taking on a more professional stance. “I had no idea.”

"Retired Admiral," Paul said "And relax, I've been retired for a couple years now."

T’Mia nodded and relaxed, “Sorry it’s habit! I hope you’re enjoying being aboard ship with the Commodore?”

Paul nodded "I am, my only regret is our son is on Klavor. Both Cyndi and I feel an active star ship is no place for an active three year old. He's in good hands with Cyndi's parents."

T’Mia nodded. “Each to their own, some prefer children aboard with them others prefer them off ship. I’d like kids one day, but I can’t see that being any time soon.”

"Kids are fun and at the same time a challenge as you never know what they are going to say or do. There is a reason why our son is not with us," Paul commented "You'll make a fine mother one day, don't rush it,"

“I won’t don't worry” T’Mia smiled warmly.

Paul checked the time "I've taken up a lot of your time even though I've enjoyed our talk. I want to meet Cyndi for lunch."

“Of course, I don’t want to make you late” T’Mia smiled warmly. “It’s been a pleasure getting to know you.”

"Remember its our secret," Paul said getting to his feet

“My lips are sealed” T’Mia grinned. “Have a good evening.”

Thank you lieutenant," Paul said "Can I escort you someplace or are you wanting to remain here and take in the view?"

“Actually I think I’ll stay for a little while, thank you Sir” She smiled warmly.

"Your welcome lieutenant," Paul said "It was a pleasure talking to you."
