Lt Suvak completed her shift and headed down to the rec hall to shower then work out. After the shower Suvak saw Ensign Humphreys on a bike and she jumped on the bike beside her.

" Have you been here long? " Suvak asked.
" Already a mile ahead of you." Eva replied.
" I will be up to you in 45 seconds Ensign." Suvak promised as she peddled faster.

" How did you do that?" Eva asked.
" The terrain is now twenty degrees lower...I coasted." Suvak replied.

From across the room at a computer terminal sat an unfamiliar being in a Star Fleet grey suit. He, she, or it stood less than 5 feet tall and was very plugged into a computer.

Ensign IO as it was called was an exchange officer on loan from Star Fleet Engineering. A resident of Binar , IO was its nickname in order to be referred to by all species. In actuality its name consisted of 10001000 .

IO entered the rec deck and immediately walked over to the replicator but spying the two young officers exercising walked there instead.

" What purpose is this device?" IO asked Eva
" We propell the ship with these. Do You wish to help?" Eva joked.

Suvak said nothing but push on to pass Eva on the path.

IO joined them and tried to make it work but the bike was too big.
" This is not going to work properly. I don not see a connection to the engineering or impulse drives using this device." IO added.

" You won't Ensign IO she is pulling a practical joke on you." Suvak replied having won the race. " These are for exercise purposes."

" Accessing ships files...exercise, bicycle, uploaded. It was...monotonous wasn't it?" IO asked.

" No we do it to get in shake Ensign.' Eva laughed.

" In shape? Are you shape shifters? Lieutenant Suvak is Vulcan. Ensign Eva Humphreys is humanoid." IO asked.

" Access the term exercise IO." Suvak told IO.

IO did and it had at least a working knowledge of why they were there.

IO finished its observation of the exercise but not the two female beings. Though seperated from its symbiont twin IO watched as the two worked together much as it did with 101.
