The trip down to Niagara Falls had been pretty straight forward, it hadn’t taken as long as T’Mia had imagined it would. Stepping through the transporter gate they’d stepped out in front of one of the biggest hotels she’d ever seen, no doubt one of the busiest ones being closest to the arrival point. “Wow!” She smiled as she looked at Greg, “This place is huge!”
Greg glanced around, “Not that huge, biggest here because of the falls, but if you head to some of the older cities you’ll find bigger ones. You could fit a couple of these into one hotel in New York City.”
“That really must be something to see!” T’Mia smiled. “You can tell I haven’t spent much time on Earth can’t you? I did my four years at the Academy but never really left the campus much.”
“Was the Academy that hard,” Greg asked looking over at T’Mia as he moved his way toward the direction of the falls, “I’ve heard a couple of the newly minted butter bars discussing the different bars in the area.”
“Not at all” T’Mia smiled. “I just wasn’t into going out clubbing or anything. It’s not much fun on your own anyway. It’s much more fun being with you.”
Greg smiled and leaned over to give T’Mia a quick peck on the cheek. “Thank you,” he said softly as he turned a corner and the roar of the falls hit them.
T’Mia’s mouth dropped open as she saw the falls, it was more beautiful than she’d ever imagined. “Ohh my...” She walked over to take in the full view from the viewing balcony. “Greg this is...” She shook her head. “It’s beautiful, thank you so much for bringing me here!!”
“You’re welcome,” Greg said with a smile as he moved up to the viewing balcony. “If this is beautiful we should make a trip to Victoria Falls it’s said to put Niagara to shame.” He placed an arm gently on her shoulder, “It’s one of the prettier sights I’ve seen on a planet. You should also see Olympus Mons on Mars, largest mountain in the solar system. Did my hazardous duty training in its shadows during advanced infantry training.”
“I want to see them all” T’Mia smiled. “I want to get to see what I’ve missed here.”
Greg looked over at the falls taking in the water and the sound, “I’m sure you’ve seen your fair share of beauty out in the stars.”
T’Mia nodded. “I’ll admit the sight of the stars and planets is gorgeous but this...its truly amazing how beautiful nature really is.” She offered Greg a warm smile. “It’s made all the more special having you to share it with.”
“Then it’s a deal you can show me the wonder of the stars and I’ll show you the beauty of nature,” Greg replied wrapping T’Mia in a hug.
“That sounds wonderful to me” T’Mia smiled as she enjoyed the hug. “Very wonderful indeed.”
“Then how about we head to the cabin and start to explore a few of the mountains and streams,” Greg replied.
T’Mia nodded. “Let’s go.”
