After Usher's talk with the Slave Trader's Office, and finding out he would have to wait a few days to meet, he decided to go check on the Princess. When he arrived at her cell he couldn't believe his eyes...she was gone.
"WHAT THE HELL!!!!" he bellowed loudly then picked up a metal object and threw it against the wall. Furious he gathered all of his guards together. "Who the hell let the Princess go....I want an answer and I want it now" Usher screamed being upset and feeling betrayed by one of his own men.
All the Guards just stood in silence not daring to look right or left for fear of suffering Usher's wrath. Amos stood looking straight ahead stone faced....he would never tell that he was the one who let Cyndi go....he thought that Usher had truly lost his mind and would no longer be a party to these kinds of actions.
Several minutes went by and no one said a word except Usher "If I find out who betrayed me that person will regret the day they were born.....dismissed" and with that Usher stormed off.
Some time later Usher went to his quarters and grabbed a good stiff drink from the replicator and downed it then grabbed another before plunking down on his bed.
As he sat sipping his drink his mind began to wander once again. His plan was unraveling and for the first time in these many years he was feeling helpless; out of control.
He had been so angry for so long at the Klavorian government that he knew nothing else. His anger had driven him for years....the thought of exacting his revenge was the only thing keeping him going....it had sadly defined who he was and what he did....until recently.
After taking another sip of his drink....maybe he should just give up his mission.....return the Princess to her Ship.....take Lia and go off somewhere a long ways away and just be content with a life with her and forget the past. It was a decision that he would have to make and make soon. Maybe he should discuss it with Lia first before making his final decision; although he was fairly certain what her answer would be.
