Post Number 21 Asking Questions

Mission: Kidnapped
Location: Kristian's Office
Timeline: Current

ON:

Paul walked into sick bay looking for Kristian, after checking with one of the nurses made his way to her office. “Busy?” Paul asked

Looking up from the report she’d been working, seeing Cyndi’s husband set the PADD aside “Nothing that can’t wait, come in and have a seat.”

Paul closed the office door and took a seat across from Kristian “Do you have a few minutes?”

“For you admiral I have all the time in the world. I’d ask how you’re holding up but I think I can understand. We all miss her and hope we get her back soon. What can I do for you?” Kristian asked

“On your planet who hold the Planetary and Palace Defense Codes? Cyndi is one of four who hold them and I’m wondering if I should suggest to Cyndi when she gets back that, that needs to change,” Paul said

“My Aunt and Uncle, Marlaina and Sonya. If you noticed it’s not my mum, Tara, Alesha or myself. Your wondering why,” Kristian commented, seeing Paul’s nod “It’s because the four of us are active duty. Mum’s a marine, Alesha is a fighter pilot, Tara’s a scientist and I’m a doctor. Cyndi shouldn’t hold any codes other than the command codes to this ship. I don’t know why she’s been taken hostage but now her parents need to change those codes. The command codes to the ship the minute she was taken no longer work.”

Paul thought a minute “You have a good point, let me get personal, which one of you is next in line?”

“Tara, there’s no chance myself or Alesha will ever have that position and mum is Aunt Rayna’s sister,” Kristian said “So yes in my opinion you need to suggest to Cyndi that she be excluded from holding those codes and I hate to say it but you as well. We both know when Cyndi goes home she’s met and escorted in and should the ship ever go to Klavor it will be automatically cleared permission so there is no reason for Cyndi to have any codes to the planet.”

“Looking at it the way you explain it, it makes sense,” Paul said

“But remember that is how my home world does it, I don’t know the customs of her home world,” Kristian replied “Now it’s time for me to be a doctor. You’re not sleeping and you’ll be no good to Cyndi if your exhausted when we get her back.” Kristian opened a drawer on her desk, picked up a hypo-spray, loaded it with sleep agent and handed it to Paul “I want you to use this, take it ten minutes before you go to bed and it will help you sleep.”

Taking it “Thank you Kristian, you’re a good doctor and a good friend.”

Getting up from her desk Kristian walked around to where Paul was seated and placed a hand on his shoulder “I’m here anytime you need to talk, go get some rest and I hope we have an answer for you soon on how she’d doing.”

Paul pocketed the hypo-spray, thanked Kristian and headed back to his quarters, Kristian ha given him a lot to think about.
