The first order of business was for Nix to have a word with the XO. Tapping her Comm "Lieutenant Commander Kahn, this is Lieutenant JG Nix Dunjen...I was wondering if we could meet at your earliest convenience....there is a matter that I wish to discuss with you."
Kahn had heard the opening, then tapped her own combadge. "I am open to suggestions, Lieutenant Dunjen."
Seeing that this could be handled over Comms "Lieutenant Herculoid and I are set to depart for an Infiltration Mission soon. My concern is for the Commodore.....from an Intelligence perspective I would like to suggest stricter protocols as far as she is concerned" Nix commented then continued "I would have, of course, run this suggestion by Lieutenant McKeon first but he's been in his Office with Star Fleet Intelligence and I'm set to leave the Ship soon as I mentioned."
With palm PADD in hand Kahn left her office, still tapping as she walked carefully to avoid running into people or anything else. Bjorgo was leaving and she had his full report as to why, trying to read it and see to his resignation from Starfleet. "Where are you now, Dunjen?"
On top of the Bjorgo deal, there was the newly acquired, reactivated Starfleet officer named Rogue Green. A lieutenant commander, with both an engineering certification and a PhD. in emergency medicine. Along with those accolades this Green had also worked with Starfleet engineering and improved an operating system aboard starships and bases, setting a new standard for the machinery. Impressive, she thought.
"I just left Sickbay if you would like to meet somewhere" Nix replied.
"Well," said Liza, grinning to herself. "Since you'll be hailing a taxi soon, what say we meet in the shuttle bay. Both of us are fairly close to the main bay." She stopped her progress as she waited for an answer, nodding to passing crew.
"Yes that would be convenient....I'll be there shortly" Nix replied as she picked up her pace to get to the shuttle bay as quickly as possible so as not to keep the Lieutenant Commander waiting.
Soon the Lieutenant JG walked into the main shuttle bay when she saw Liza waiting talking to someone. She approached "Lieutenant Commander thank you for meeting with me" Nix commented.
"My pleasure, Lieutenant." Kahn put her palm PADD in her thigh pocket to give Dunjen her full attention. "What's on your mind?"
Nix smiled "Like I mentioned earlier I have some concerns pertaining to the Commodore, especially in light of what happened before I was assigned to this Ship" she stated then continued "The Ship currently is equipped with security dampeners which Engineering could upgrade from level ten, which they are now, to level 12 which would go a long way in preventing unauthorized beam-outs."
Kahn gave a nod, her perpetual grin coming and going depending on what she said and how she said it. "Good on you for doing the number crunching, Nix." Liza paused and looked at the younger female. "As both XO and the Security Chief, your concerns are valid and your data noteworthy. When you return from your little jaunt we'll discuss the particulars further, then implement said ideas with the aid of the departments involved. Any suggestions?"
Nix was more than pleased with the XO's reaction "That sounds like a solid plan and I would be more than happy to discuss this with you further upon my return. Since your quite busy juggling two positions, Engineering should be able to handle any upgrades that may be needed" Nix replied with a smile "Thank you again for your time Ma'am....I should be going I still have some things to prepare before my Mission starts."
Liza gave a warm grin. "I won't hold you up, Lieutenant. Dismissed." When Dunjen turned and began to walk away Kahn called out. "Nix." The young officer stopped and looked back over her shoulder. "Good job." Liza then walked passed the woman and gave her a friendly pat on a shoulder as she went, leaving the shuttle bay to head for one of her offices.
