Post Number 10 Time With Parents

Kristian had sent her report on the commodore to Commander Kahn and would clear her for duty once she was back on the ship. She’d also included the councilor’s Physic Evaluation that showed despite everything Cyndi had been through was doing well and was ready to return to work pending medical’s release. Logging out of her computer just as her mother walked into sick bay.

“Mum I heard from dad, your leaving?” Kristian said

Narla nodded “It’s time, I’ll be keeping an eye on the major and I want you to keep an eye on him too. Can you get away?”

“I can, I was just going to go change and beam down to the planet,” Kristian said

“Your dad’s on the surface, the North Star is in orbit,” Narla said “How is the commodore?”

“What I can tell you mum, is she’d going to be okay,” Kristian said getting up “Let me go change and I’ll meet you on the planet.”

A short time later Kristian met her parents at a park overlooking a body of water.

“Hard to believe that water as beautiful as it is, is deadly,” Richard said noticing the sign that warned everyone not to enter the water.

“When do you have to leave dad?” Kristian asked

“In a few hours, I have an idea. Why we just take in some sights. None of us have been to this planet before and who knows when any of us will get back,” Richard suggested “It will give us all a break from the demands of our jobs.”

“I like that idea,” Narla agreed “I hear there’s an underwater city and they have the best seafood.”

“Oh that sounds like a plan,” Kristian replied

“Then let’s make a day of it,” Richard said taking Narla’s hand and placing his arm around his daughter’s waist as they headed off to do some sightseeing and shopping.
