"Lieutenant Nix, get with Intel and be ready once we get there," Cyndi said.

After the briefing had disbanded Nix knew exactly where her next stop would be. On her way she was thinking about what the Major had proposed....it seemed somewhat premature...let's get the facts first....then send in the Marines if warranted.

{Strategic Operations Division}

The Lieutenant JG entered the S.O. Division and walked up to the desk " Excuse me Lieutenant, I'm Lieutenant JG Nix Dunjen Infiltration Specialist....would it be possible to speak to the S.O. Chief about our next mission" she queried with a smile.

The Lieutenant looked up noticing that she was Trill "Yes Lieutenant JG, I think that can be arranged" he commented returning the smile. Tapping the Comm "Excuse me Chief, the new Infiltration Specialist would like a word concerning the upcoming mission."

"Good, send the Specialist in" came the reply. "Thank you Lieutenant" Nix stated then turned and entered the Chief's Office.

When Nix walked in she walked up to the desk while noticing the Officers collar and stood tall "Commander, thank you for seeing me on such short notice....I have some questions that I think you can help me with" Nix commented while still standing.

"Please have a seat...I'm Commander Ann Natal and you must be Lieutenant JG Nix Dunjen....I've read over your Bio and must say I'm quite impressed with your qualifications and a joined Trill also...excellent" she stated.

Nix took the offered seat "Thank you Ma'am on both counts." she replied waiting for the Commander to speak next.

"So how can my Division be of assistance Lieutenant" Natal asked.

"I've reread over the Mission Brief that the Commodore just went over with us and if I'm to stand any chance of a successful infiltration then I don't feel I can go in as one of the Planets native species.....that could be disastrous if I was called out by someone." she explained, then continued "Is there another species that I can go in as....maybe someone who is involved in the project."

The Commander sat and thought for a few moments "Let me pull up the intel that we have" Natal replied. After several minutes she had an answer for Nix " The Coridans would be a good fit for you. They look more Terran than not and are heavily involved in the research and development of the weapon. Matter of fact we can provide the credentials and a backstory that no one will question down there."

"That would be ideal Commander....I don't think I could drop on all fours and run forty miles per hour....I may be good but I'm not that good" Nix commented with a grin.

The Commander had to chuckle "No I don't suppose you could run in that fashion. Give me two hours to get your information together if you wouldn't mind coming back, then I'll go over everything with you" Natal instructed.

"Thank you Commander.....I can start getting my gear together in the mean time" Nix replied "I'll see you in two hours then." Nix stood and left the Chief's Office heading to the Intelligence lockups to start getting things together.

{Intelligence Division}

Nix walked into the secured area and opened her lockup getting ready to gear up for the mission. She grabbed a special vest that had loads of pockets and hidden compartments to conceal all her gear as well as giving her some protection from phaser stuns.

She started adding things like throwing stars, a collapsable blow gun, lots of sleeping darts, a few feet of strong cord, plain old small stones, Discs, Fobs (for Data recovery), and also her new viewing ball and wrist Terminal. The last items Nix grabbed was her small but very powerful phaser with an extra battery; this was not a standard issued weapon by any means....but one that she wouldn't go on mission without and also a special knife that Dunjen had taught her how to make with a curved blade that would cut you from stem to stern before you knew what happened.

Nix stood back looking everything over thinking if there was anything that she had missed; after numerous missions previously she knew she had all contingencies covered. Then she could hear Dunjen in her mind "Looks like you have everything that you'll need and maybe a few extras" he commented. "Yes old friend, I think I have everything covered" Nix thought.

Then Kira walked over "Hi Lieutenant....I thought I heard you back here" she commented wearing a smile.

"Hello Ensign....yes I'm getting my Tech together for a mission" she stated "So what do I have to do here to check these items out?"

"You're all set Lieutenant....things are automatically scanned as you put them in you're vest by the overhead scanners" Kira explained as she pointed to the ceiling "And when you return the same will take place as you put your gear back in the lockup. Then just step to the Terminal over there, log in, and check to make sure everything is correct."

A very surprised Nix commented "I really like that system....makes getting ready for mission much simpler and quicker."

"Yes that's what it was designed for. You're time before mission is much too valuable to waste on busy work that can just as easily be handled by the Computer and scanners" Kira stated.

There were a couple of moments of silence when Kira asked rather nervously "After your mission is over I was wondering if you would like to meet some evening for a drink in the Lounge....there aren't many women in Intelligence and it would be nice to have someone to just sit and talk with."

Nix could hear Dunjen "Go for it....she seems really nice and you could use a evening away from work." Nix smiled at Kira "I'd love to have a drink with you some evening. I'll let you know when I get back and we can set something up" she replied hoping to make another friend.

A much more relaxed Kira replied "That would be nice and I look forward to it."

By this time Nix realized that the two hours were up "If you'll excuse me, but there is somewhere else I need to be soon. I'll stow my gear and be back for it just before I leave Ship" Nix said with a smile then turned to be on her way elsewhere.

{Strategic Operations Division}

Nix walked into the S.O. Office and was directed to the Chief's Ready Room. When she entered the Commander asked her to take a seat as she started to explain Nix's cover.

"Lieutenant you'll be going in as a Coridan Project Analyst which should give you access to any information that you may need to acquire" Natal explained "Also here is your cover story and history which you'll want to commit to memory." Natal handed all the information before giving Nix her documents "Here are all your credentials which will also get you into any area that you may need to access. Any questions so far?"

Nix thought for a few minutes before answering " This seems pretty clear cut.....I'm just concerned about my creditability
Planet side and being able to have the time I need to collect data" she replied being very concerned.

Commander Natal smiled "The information we've given you, I can assure you, have been prepared by some very talented people to be pretty much fool proof.....I can get you in the door....then you'll have to rely on your own talents....which appear to be many" she concluded.

Nix listened very carefully which made her more comfortable with what she was tasked to do. She stood with a smile "Thank you Commander for all your help and insight.....It should make my job easier and safer" she commented being quite sincere.

The Commander returned the smile as she stood "You're welcome Lieutenant JG Dunjen....if you have any questions my door is always open to you. Best of luck on your upcoming mission and come back safe" Natal commented.

"Thank you Commander.....I'll do my best to come back in one piece. I've taken up enough of your time and I do have a few more things to attend to" Nix replied then turned and left the Office.
