Mission: Weapon Investigating
Location: Bridge
Timeline: Concurrent

Time was critical concerning this mission as all hands were aware, especially Odac Yova. Putting aside his personal issues Yova was concerned with any dealing with the Tholians.

' Good you are on duty. Mr McTavish have the Tholians moved from their position?" Yova asked.

"Yes Lieutenant they have moved a little closer but that was to facilitate contact with us; matter of fact you just missed an exchange with the C.O. of that Ship" James answered then checking his Screen "They seem to be holding their position....probably to keep an eye on us."

" Damn. Those things are crystaline in nature. They are probably here to get the bentonite crystals from this planet for their ship. This new design is stronger than the Amandora when fully operational." Yova warned. " We are in deep doo doo if we engage a fully functional Tholian Battleship of this class."

A quite confused James looked at Yova "Ok that's not good.....but from the data that Lieutenant Dunjen was able to retrieve from the Research Center.....it all points to the crystals being used to propel this new weapon" he explained then paused for a moment "So what you're telling me that it could also be used for their Ship as well...now that is really cause for concern."

" One should never trust a creature with no honor." Thoros added.

Looking at Thoros "Honor aside...any species capable of that type of destruction of a whole Planet and has a Ship that could destroy the Amandora.....that's a recipe for a galactic catastrophe" James concluded.

" So is Commodore Song " Yova joked. " All jokes aside bentonite crystals are formed from vulcanic cores. Which means they have absorbed a lot of heat and can. The Tellarites but be wanting those crystals for their new reactors. Exploding a planet is far easier than mining one . The Corridon are known for being stern dilithium miners they probably want rights to any of that they find." Yova added.

James let out a sigh. "That's the other thing...the Coridan's are involved in this thing too" he commented "It looks like the Dogroons are the labor...the Coridan's are putting up the money....so are the Tholians going to take possession of the weapon if it ever gets finished....this keeps getting more complicated by the minute."

" Perhaps someone should enlighten the Dogroons to this. They are slaves to the others " Thoros added with some anger in his voice.

" Mr McTavish can you scan the area to see how many Tholians are present?" Yova asked.

James nodded as he scanned both the Moon and Quagmire "I'm seeing life signs of maybe six Tholians between the the Moon and the Research Center" he stated, then paused for a moment before continuing "With a Ship that size I would guess about two hundred
crew compliment.....I can't scan the Ship directly or they may see it as an act of war and I don't think the Commodore would be too happy with us if we did."

Thoros and Odac looked at one another and both rolled their eyes.
" You are a married man aren't you McTavish? It shows." Yova snickered.

At Yova's comment James had to chuckle "Yes I am and I wouldn't have it any other way.....I guess trying to stay on the right side of a women has carried into my professional life as well" he commented with a big grin.

" Whipped" Thoros also chuckled.

Yova then turned to McTavish with his own idea.
" One weapon we have is an awesome ships deflector. By channeling our warp engines through it we can emit an awesome graviton wave and punch a hole right through that Tholian dreadnought ship. " Yova declared as his mind was now unclouded from the plasma radiation sickness.

James stood listening to Yova's explanation thinking that he was a true Engineer....always thinking ahead and how to keep this Ship in one piece and out of harm's way when he commented "From a Science standpoint that would probably get the job done. That's certainly something to keep on the back burner, sort of speak."

" You know us engineers we like to make things up as we go along." Yova replied .
